The Untitled Cassian Andor Series Adds Two New Cast Members

On the heels of last week’s report on the show adding Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller, THR is now reporting that two new actresses have been added to the cast. Genevieve O’Reilly will be reprising her role from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Rebels as Mon Mothma, while Denise Gough’s role has not been revealed yet. Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will be reprising their roles from Rogue One as the Rebel Cassian Andor, and the reprogrammed imperial droid K-2SO. The series will be set five years before the spinoff movie released in 2016.

Tony Gilroy

While it was previously reported that Tony Gilroy, who helped save Rogue One back in 2016, would be joining the series as a creative head, and even directing several episodes (including the pilot, which he will also write), THR is now stating that he will be the only showrunner of the show. This marks yet another shift in the creative team of this show, which was six weeks into pre-production before they shut it down due to the coronavirus crisis.

Besides her role as Mon Mothma, O’Reilly has been appearing in several TV shows for the last decade, and also appeared in last year’s Tolkien and in 2017’s The Snowman. Denise Gough played un unknown part in the Game of Thrones prequel series that shot its pilot last year and was later scrapped.

The untitled Cassian Andor/Rogue One spinoff series will be available exclusively on Disney Plus with no release date announced yet. We will continue to keep you up to date with any and all news about the series.
