A Look at Hasbro’s Star Wars: Rogue One TIE Striker & Rebel U-Wing Toys

U-Wing-02

Pictures of what looks to be official ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ toys have hit the net. Get a sneak peak at the packages of the U Wing and TIE Striker..

Hasbro’s Star Wars: Rogue One Rebel U-Wing Fighter & TIE Striker have been unofficially revealed via a blogspot named Idle Hands. The U-Wing comes with collapsible strike foils, NERF blaster bits and the action figure Captain Cassian Andor. The TIE Striker also comes with the NERF blaster bits and a Imperial pilot figure.

The exact source of these images are not known at this time. Expect an official release on Force Friday in September, like Idle Hands already speculated.

Check them out!

You probably remember that a few days ago a photo with the actual U-Wing toy was also spotted HERE.

We’re just a little over a month away from this year’s Force Friday. Toy releases are always great source of info on the characters and the movie’s story. This year Force Friday will commence on September 30. The talk is that the event will not be as impressive as the one for The Force Awakens, but still there will be something for every collector and Star Wars fan.

I love the look of the tie-striker and its a pity it wasn’t in TFA as a modern version of the traditional tie. Not sure still on the u-wing, very retro, maybe a little bit much, would of been just as happy to see the old wings in action. Should be fun to see them in action though!!

I’m not sure what (if any) practicality that tuning-fork-looking frontside of the U-wing serves.

They appear to switch-back on the picture of the toy in action, so simply wings?

Basically the new “s-foils” for this ship…. Though the practical purpose of those is already pretty dubious in space lol.

Probably allows it to land in tighter spaces (like the Lambda shuttle). Then, they swing out for more maneuverability.

When the troops come out underneath, I think the forward swept wings provide cover while they exit. Then in flight mode the serve as maneuvering planes, etc.

But, you know, not as good as the FIRST Force Friday…which was such a giant, rousing success of Hasbro getting product on shelves.

It’s at least different. What do you think of the tie striker?

I love the tie striker! Hope it sticks around and the first order has some version of it in episode 8. The FO “updated” tie looked too generic for me.

I’m still surprised that the New Hope prologue has more unique and memorable designs aesthetics than the sequel that takes place thirty years after.

I read on Wookieepedia that the TIE Striker was designed for in-atmosphere engagements. So does this make the Striker the Imperial equivalent of the T-47 airspeeder (Rebel Snowspeeder) ?

I found the ship packs for sale. Does anyone know if they’re supposed to be out already?
