UPDATE! SWNN Giveaway: The Discerning Jedi Ultimate Star Wars Gift Box!

DiscerningJediKit_grandeThe nice folks over at Broquet have decided they would like to share the Ultimate Gift Set for The Discerning Jedi with the ultimate site for discerning fans here at Star Wars News Net.  This Ultimate Gift Box is a treasure trove of small Star Wars items that combine to make one great gift “For a man who loves Star Wars, this elegant gift set is full of cool, memorable goodies.”

This Ultimate Star Wars gift box comes stuffed to the gills with a variety of unique items to satisfy a wide variety of interests.  Up first, what I think may be the main draw for many, are 3 Star Wars Build-Your-Own Metal Figurine Kits.  These are marked for ages 14 and up and that does seem to be warranted.  These are some pretty advanced kits that come in a very small package.  The individual pieces are stamped and extremely thin pieces of metal, ready for you to pop out and assemble.  You will want a pair of small pliers, some tweezers, and the hands of a surgeon for these kits as the pieces are small, sharp, and take a bit of finesses to put together, but the end results are very cool.

DiscerningJediBuildableFigurines_grandeAlso in the gift box you will find 6 Star Wars Patent Blueprints made with Archival Heavyweight Matte Paper and Archival Pigment Inks.  Each one of these is a single Star Wars ship or vehicle, and they each come in their own individual transparent plastic envelope for protection.  These are just really cool to look at and could be fun to frame or just keep at your desk.

DiscerningJediPatentArt_grandeRounding out the gift box we have a Millennium Falcon bottle opening, a hand crafted wooden Darth Vader beard comb, and my personal favorite the silicon Death Star Ice mold.  The Falcon bottle opener fits nicely in you hand and has a hefty weight to it making me thing it will have some longevity in its many battles with various beer bottles.  The Darth Vader beard comb, is actually a nice bit of craftsmanship and I would presume it would work well for those with chin whiskers.  As someone without, I think it will work nicely as a particularly geeky rake for a Zen rock garden.  And finally, what glass of Jawa Juice, blue milk, or Corellian Brandy would be complete without a fully armed and operational cooling sphere.  Watching the death star slowly melt into a glass of whiskey is just as satisfying as you might imagine it would be.

DiscerningJediIce2_grandeTo top it all off, Broquet sends the gift box in sturdy wooden crate packaging, and we’d like to send one of those wooden crates right to your door so one of our lucky readers can enjoy in the fun as well.

Mmmm… I was looking the most forward to Rouge One (mainly because of the inclusion of Mads Mikkelsen and of course in hope of it to be the first real good STAR WARS prequel, UNTIL the new production announcement of Episode VIII hit the web. I’m so excited to see Rian Johnson on set! (You’ll do great!) Kinda funny we get to see footage of Episode VIII before anything from Rouge One! XD

Episode 8, hands down. I have total confidence in Rian Johnson to deliver a film that is not only as interesting and enjoyable as TFA, but is also, original and thrilling in its own right.

Right now I’m probably more exited about Rogue One. It will be interesting to see the first ever anthology film, and what is different with it compared to the saga films. I’m also exited because it’s supposedly quite a dark and gritty film, something I think Star Wars could benefit from, as it could give viewers a more realistic view of the universe. 🙂

Episode 8. It’s been set up pretty well and I think the director is a good choice for shaking up the new canon.

Rogue One. I’ve yet to hear any bad potential things about it, I always wanted to see a non Jedi/Sith oriented film, Darth Vader/Tarkin may have roles, the cast is full of quality, all the main characters are new which is a first for a SW film, and it’s probably the closest we’ll get to an X-Wing adaptation.

As cool as the premise for Rogue One sounds, I just cannot wait for episode 8. After episode 7’s cliffhanger ending, I cannot be more curious and speculative about what is going to happen in episode 8 and I just wish it could get here sooner! Just think of it, 4 years from now, the sequel trilogy will have been completed and we’ll all be watching this trilogy from start to finish on repeat…cannot wait!!!

Episode VIII for me, though Rogue One looks amazing. I’d say the Boba Fett film, but as that’s not confirmed, and the third movie is now on hold, I’ll stick with the others.
