Personalized Children’s Star Wars Storybooks to be Released in September

YounglingsSourcebooks, the publisher of the Put Me In The Story series of children’s books has announced that they will be releasing two Star Wars themed picture books in September. Star Wars Rebels: Battle Plans from Darth Vader and Star Wars: The Force Inside.

Put Me In The Story books are children’s books that take a child’s name and photo and weave them into a story making them the star of the book. The books should be great fun for kids (or I suppose adults if you really wish) as they will be able to see themselves learning to become a Jedi next to classic Star Wars characters or taking part in the rebellion against the Empire with the cast of Star Wars: Rebels. These should be popular gifts for that next generation of Star Wars toddlers out there in the upcoming holiday season.

Here is the full release from the publisher:

Sourcebooks Creates Personalized Star Wars™ Titles

Naperville, IL, August 4, 2015—Sourcebooks, a leading independent publisher and developer, announced today the publication of two personalized Star Wars books through their website, Put Me in the Story, which will launch in September 2015. Since its launch in 2012, Put Me In The Story has grown its collection of stories featuring some of the world’s best-known brands, including Disney.

Using the innovative Put Me In The Story platform, a child’s name is imaginatively integrated throughout the text, making them the star of the story, alongside beloved characters. With a photo, custom dedications and other personalization features in each book, these personal touches create a magical experience for each child, connecting them with their favorite characters and bestselling books.

This Fall, Put Me In The Story will publish two personalized Star Wars picture books—Star Wars Rebels: Battle Plans from Darth Vader and Star Wars: The Force Inside.

In Star Wars Rebels: Battle Plans from Darth Vader, a small band of rebels are rising to threaten the Empire, and Darth Vader has asked you to defeat them! If you succeed, you will secure your place in the Empire. But if you fail, you will have to face Darth Vader himself.

In Star Wars: The Force Inside, you must choose your own path—Jedi or Sith? Alongside classic characters from the Star Wars saga, each reader will experience an interactive adventure following their destiny in a galaxy far, far away.

Those aren’t sourcebooks! It’s like a company called ‘The Barbershop’ and it sells spare parts for your car. Please do make some real Star Wars Sourcebooks instead of these … ‘things’.

Am I the only one who randomly gets redirected to Aliexpress.com when I’m scrolling through the comments section? F***ing annoying.

Some ads are displayed if you hold your mouse pointer over it for a longer period. I really hate this too, but we don’t choose which ads are displayed on the site. They are mainly based on the person’s browsing history.

That’s what’s so strange. My cursor is nowhere near the banner ads and it doesn’t relate to my browsing history. I’m taken to a completely different site. Oh well.

Uh, I’m not sure that’s the right picture to use for a put your kid in Star Wars book. “As you raise your little training lightsaber Anakin strikes you down with all of his hate and anger. The End.”

I like how the human kid (second youngling from the right) can’t decide if he wants a regular or reverse grip on that thing.

Hey, now, I had SW coloring books and such back in the very early Eighties. TGFFA has always been a place for kids as much as for adults.

Is the one on the far right the same species as Maz?
PS if you notice all the Jedi costumes but especially the purple one look like a kimono. So when they said Maz appeared to have a Kimono on in early concept art …I’m sure it was one of these. Not saying that makes this figure her species… Just two observations.

I’m pretty sure that’s a young Red Nikto. If you compare the adult Red Nikto to this jedi youngling they look very similar just not matured.

Also anyone know the species of the one third from the left?

I think the reptilian green one is supposed to be a young Trandoshan, they have similar features except for the front where the mouth is seems more flattened.

The orange youngling I believe is a Red Nikto or Kajain’sa’Nikto. Which also bears very similar features to an adult Red Nikto.

That new alien kid on the far right looks like what Maz Kanata might look like ..

They are similar to the concept art work.

haha, I made one comment about the picture reminding me how bad the prequels were and you (moderator) erased it…! Is this China or Russia ?? Shame on you! (moderator)

I don’t blame him. Prequel hating is not only old and boring, but patronizing. Some people like the prequels.

Can your kid be a youngling that is cut down by the newly-turned Darth Vader? “Master Skywalker, there are too many of them! What are we going to — ” ZOOOOOM! ZOOOP! HEAD ROLLING!

Great nightmare fodder for your toddler!
