Hear the Full Version of “Jabba Flow” from The Force Awakens!
Many fans asked for it and today is the day. Lin Manuel Miranda and J.J. Abrams released the original Jabba Flow, the song that was performed in Maz Kanata’s Castle, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Miranda and Abrams didn’t only write and produce the song, but they also performed the track. Take a look at a very special presentation:
StarWars.com also shared the full version of the Jabba Flow here. The song is also available on iTunes.
What a pleasant surprise, May the 4th be with us all.
Lin Manuel Miranda should cop a role in an Episode.
He’ll go down as one of the greats of the stage.
Amazing. Simply amazing. =D
I did not make the connection that ‘Hamilton’ creator/performer/genius Miranda co-wrote “Jabba Flow” with Abrams until now. I still prefer this original over the remix on the Headspace album. Fantastic that they finally released it!
Now I hope at some point they release the movie version of the Rey vs Kylo fight that features the Burning Homestead tune. The one they put on the soundtrack is nowhere near the feels.
Agreed.
It’s no Lapti Nek. But not bad.
I honestly like this song more.
It’s no “Jedi Rocks”..
I kid, I kid! 🙂
Should release it as a single like they did with Lapti Nek and the Cantina Band theme song after the Special Edition. Better yet release an album.
Sounds vaguely Cheech Marin-esque too.
Finally!
I knew we could hear it until bleed the ears but i was disappointed when they didn’t include it in the final soundtrack.
With the castle images has more strength.
By the way, I like this wookie… I mean this song…
Meh. Too reggae to fit into Star Wars. The original cantina band sounded like totally in the universe. This song is too basic. Nub nub
Most of the film was basic. Running shoes instead of a galactic feel like the Mukluks in ep5 etc
whatever that meant..
The cantina song fit the universe because it was in the film that established the universe, so you know the universe’s music by that song. If this one was in place of the original cantina song, we’d likely know it by that instead.
I believe SW has room for more than one music type.
Not available in the Japanese iTunes store. 🙁
It is available on Amazon for .99USD. I bought it yesterday. I hope you can get it that way.
Deep lyrics
It’s ok but not great – I would hardly say it was ‘composed’ – must have taken all of 30 seconds to write the music, perhaps 2 minutes to google the words.
Strange that JW apparently didn’t want to score this scene.
Again, racism against non-US fans. In the tiny case that I get to do a star wars film I’ll make sure all contents arrive in US after they came out in the rest of the world.
I think you need to look up the word “racism.” You’re doing it wrong.
right, I meant ‘discrimination’
…you’re still doing it wrong, counter-discrimination is still discrimination.
yeah, I know. But at this time the dark side consumed me so much that I’m looking only for revenge 😉
Jon Bon Jovi is still the undisputed king of Star Wars pop songs: R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry X-Mas like a mofo, yo! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUFZklIOFvg
That sounds like the chorus from the Carpenters’ song, Superstar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iuyFk41Rdk
