Twitter Live Stream: New Rogue One Clip, Photos and Full Video from the Event

rage-one

The Rogue One Twitter live stream event finished just a few minutes ago. The event started with a Q&A session with director Gareth Edwards, Felicity Jones, and Diego Luna who were escorted by Stormtroopers and then joined by Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen and Ben Mendelsohn. Also during the event a new special clip was screened and the viewers witnessed a super cool tour around Lucasfilm headquarters.

One thing we learned from this event is that the cast and crew has a great chemistry together and I can’t wait to see it on screen. For example one question about the casting lead to a funny anecdote, while Diego Luna had to go through a rough 6 month process until he finally got the role, his colleague Riz Ahmed had a different experience. After preparing two casting tapes for his audition and sending them to Gareth Edwards on a private email address, Ahmed was still not happy with his performance, but he was highly motivated, so he send another 12 takes. Gareth was totally convinced after the first two but he had to react with British humor after the 10th.

I’m not sure if I wanna work with this guy.

Another cool piece was how Edwards felt Vader was not right in the first take and he had to learn how to move the camera in a way to make Vader the tallest person in the scene, because that was the cinematic language of the first films.

This tweet sums up the general feel of the event.

Here’s the new clip that was shown during the event:

This is just another full scene where we can see the interaction between the actors.

After the event Edwards took Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed for a little sightseeing tour through the halls of Lucasfilm Headquarters.

They met Pablo Hidalgo.

Gareth Edwards got his U-Wing model signed by George Lucas himself.

haven’t seen him in a single public appearance for rogue one since celebration. pretty sure lucasfilm doesn’t want to take anymore chances with him. kinda sad!

Yep. “I’m there when Jyn becomes Snoke and gives birth to Rey.”

            It was pretty huge.

Love the cockpit, those seats, Cassian’s headset, Jyn Erso, the droid, everything. Star Wars is back. Oh, it wasn’t even away!

I’m looking at the model and trying to figure that one out from the exterior.

Didn’t watch the clip. I’m trying to save any more until I see the movie (looking like Thursday, Friday and either Saturday or Sunday).

But the thing that jumps out is the chemistry between the cast & Gareth. If that comes out at all on screen we’re in for something special.

I’m with you! I watched EVERYTHING for TFA – every trailer a million times, and every tv spot several times. I can’t help but think that my initial viewing was somewhat diminished because I had seen too much of the movie already.

So, this is my test for Episode 8 – I’ve watched the three trailers, and that’s it.

Can’t wait – less than two weeks to go!

There was like 8 minutes of footage max released total before TFA came out.

I’ve watched most of the trailers and the early ones numerous times. I’m drawing the line at actual clips & scenes now I’ve got my tickets I’m trying to control myself.

Absolutely love the clip. The acting and the humour. Even K2. It seems more real than it actually is.

they have Jiang Wen locked up in the vault until the premier, alongside the last remaining copy of the holiday special. i wonder how much of his fee he got docked for dropping the big spoiler.

I know. the fact that Jyn is Snoke is a huge revelation.

Not really – I called it back when the first teaser trailer for The Force Awakens. I said Rey’s mum is probably a hot, brown-haired English woman who is actually Snoke 🙂

I wonder what else he knows… might be a good person to interrogate at a future fan event if he is ever allowed to attend one!

That tour of Lucasfilm at the end was total bs. There was no Mickey, no Goofy, and no Donald Duck? WTF Disney? Utter failure. 😛
