It’s getting better. The pacing has really improved. Based on the preview last week I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out pretty good. I do wish they would spend more time establishing the characters. Only Ezra is well defined, and none of them has been made three dimensional enough to feel real to me.

Not too Shabby. a little tense, nice story development, couple of things that i wonder will make it to 7. I liked it!

It sucks big time that you can’t get the XD App in the UK. You would think in this global time we could all see it at the same time.
Maybe because VII is being filmed here we can get to see it a week earlier than the US?
          Probably not

Just find a torrent site, they might have it. I also found great sites with it for free, every episode with no “survey”, spam, or credit info. Just go to google and type “Watch Star Wars Rebels Free Online” You’ll find it. Hope this helps!

I thought it was.. okay. I did notice that the animators appear to be a little short on individual 3d models. Not only were our two officers from the premiere re-used, Morgan’s face is never shown (No time to stop by DAZ and pick up a hairdo??), and the model of the imperial businesswomen from “Droids in Distress” makes a cameo.
That said, my favorite part was Sabine giving the ‘Trinity’ to the stormtrooper.

Cue all the forty something geeks complaining about a kids cartoon…

Tell me about. I get having an opinion and all, but good Lord. It’s entertainment people, maybe be happy we’re getting new Star Wars. One troll on here complained and then hid behind his kid. “My 8 year old “belly-laughed” at the animation.” NICE, training the kid up to be a troll, just like the old man …

As an old man of 38 myself I think that the animation on the whole is great with the design and tone of the show being pretty much spot on. Yes, the character armatures are a bit stiff looking and they really should have spent a lot more time animating the hair (Ezra’s slug-like hair is quite disturbing). The important thing to remember is that this is a show primarily aimed at children, who Disney are hoping will grow up to be fans in this new era of Star Wars as we move into the sequel films.

Hid behind my kid eh? how is stating that my kid wont watch it because the animation is so horrible training my kid to be a troll? Just being honest… the animation is the ONLY thing i complained about…i watch it for the story…the animation IS horrible.. say wtf ever you want..it is a fact…Hid behind my kid….that cracks me up…your a fuckin tool.

Maybe mu reaction was a bit harsh, maybe I misinterpreted what you wrote. This fuckin’ tool here isn’t perfect and can admit it. I suppose I’m just tired of all the whining out there. Just remember, TCW animation did get better.

Exactly. I think it is entertaining…..for a kid’s cartoon. My four year old loves it and that’s pretty much all that matters.

Should have been a double episode…like showing all stages of the imperial stormtrooper training….going indepth would have been nice…

Getting a bit bored by the ‘Dick van Dyke’ British accents in this. For me it really throws the show off.
And it seems cheap & lazy.

Loved it. Gettin right 🙂 BUT… Wondering how is it possible that the first cadet test is to make impossible jumps from platform to another, and then the ordinary stormtrooper is not able to shoot down the rebels, not even having them face to face Lol.

It was also nice to see some character development of the other characters. Hope you have next next week’s episode next week!

My son and I love this show. I myself find it very entertaining and my son gets excited for the new episode each week. He is 5 years old and despite my previous attempts to introduce him to Star Wars in hopes that he will also grow to love his dad’s favorite galaxy far far away, he has just never really been in to Star Wars. But Rebels has done it for him. He loves the show and even wants a Rebels themed Birthday party this coming January. Thank you Disney. 🙂 We haven’t watched the latest episode yet but plan to this evening as it comes out in Google Play today. I have noticed a lot of people complaining about the animation quality. I think the style is unique and I have enjoyed the fresh take on the material. Some have compared the animation to Clone Wars stating how much better CW looked. I have to disagree. I have been re-watching CW on Netflix lately and I have to say that the animation in Rebels is smoother and the character models are more fluid. The lighting and color in the show is amazing as well. I think the animation complaint is a personal preference issue. – Hard Case (forgot to type my name :))

As a 38 year old who grew up with SW, I found REBELS unexpectedly entertaining, and truly worthy of the OT.

I actually thought this episode was pretty good, I thought it felt less campy than ROTOM.

I think the quality of the show is quite good. They certainly have the OT feel to them. My only serious complaint is that they’re all “one off” episodes. I would prefer more of a continuing story style.

    Still, decent show. Enjoying it.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who’s enjoying this show. I’m really liking the Firefly-style dynamic of the crew so far, and it’s fun watching them carry out their little ops. And these past few episodes have had a lot of tense, well-directed action scenes as well.

I’ve also been impressed by the animation. It may not be as detailed as on TCW, but there’s still a lot of gorgeous, atmospheric, and cool-looking stuff in these episodes.

paying to watch TV is how they pay the animators and writers’ salaries, but yeah, by all means, keep REFUSING to pay!

What I really enjoyed was hearing “Padawan” coming from the Inquisitors mouth. The fusion of the PT and the OT are finally coming together, making the story one huge overarching piece. I like it. I enjoy it.

What do I dislike? That all the tie fighter sounds, and speeder sounds, and R2 sounds are all pulled from the movies. I hear a tie fighter pass by and I think to myself, that’s the exact same sound as when they flew past the death star.

I have to say I wish the show was 45 mins. The 20 some odd minutes makes the pacing too slow. Honestly how can you develop characters with this small amount of time. I am ready for next week and hopefully some development of the women characters.

I’m not liking it much at all. The stories are too discursive to develop any serious story line, which means all we’re left with are some clingy sub-plots that are dealt with cursory usually at beginning and end of episodes. None of these adventures move the story – what ever that is – to its final destination. Sorry, but Star Wars Rebels is moving further and further away from my interest radar.

I don’t know, I think we’re seeing some development in the story so far. Ezra has gone from a selfish brat to taking an active role in missions, and is training to be a Jedi. And the Empire and Inquisitor have now become aware of the rebels, and are starting to hunt them down.

Perhaps it’s not the KIND of story you want, but I still think it’s unfolding in about as natural and believable way as it possibly could.

And it’s not like TCW didn’t often feel like it was running in place as well.

Disney xd could do a better job and let viewers see it online in other countries.

I tried their site and couldn’t view it.

We get it on tv and still can’t see it online?

The newest episode debuted on Watch Disney XD yesterday. 20 minutes just zapping bugs on an abandoned planet waiting for help to arrive. Good way to waste a whole episode when you only get 16 shows in a season. Max 3 seasons at this point. The way Disney is cancelling and rebooting its Marvel shows what chance does Star Wars even have?

Throw in SLUG Terra cast and do a crossover…already.

Who else hates the change to laser sword?

It doesn’t make sense to change something iconic as lightsaber to laser swords.
