Hot Toys Returns to the Clone Wars with New Ahsoka Tano (Padawan) and Teases New Anakin Skywalker

“This is the Clone Wars.” Hot Toys dropped an unexpected reveal this week, taking us back to the fan favorite episode ‘Shadow Warriors’ with the latest figure in their Ahsoka line – Ahsoka Tano (Padawan).

Based on Ariana Greenblatt’s portrayal of the younger Ahsoka, this figure takes us back to the start of the Clone Wars and the Battle of Christophsis from Ahsoka’s journey through the World Between Worlds. Debuting the figure on Facebook, Hot Toys wrote:

Ahsoka Tano was discovered by Jedi Master Plo Koon as a small child and accepted into the Jedi Order. When she was 14, Jedi Master Yoda granted Ahsoka the rank of Padawan and she was partnered with Anakin Skywalker, a powerful if reckless Jedi Knight. Anakin initially bristled at the idea of having an apprentice, and their early interactions were playfully contentious; he called her “Snips” for her witty retorts, and Ahsoka called him “Skyguy.” But they bonded on the battlefield and Anakin gained a newfound respect for Ahsoka.

Expanding the growing collectible lineup inspired by the Ahsoka™ live-action series, Hot Toys is thrilled to present the new 1/6th scale Ahsoka Tano™ collectible figure as she was seen as a Padawan in the World Between Worlds!

The Ahsoka Tano™ collectible figure feature a newly developed head sculpt with articulated lekku and separate rolling eyeballs to adjust the eyesight, a skillfully tailored outfit, a lightsaber™, a pair of goggles and a sand themed display base!

A Padawan Ahsoka Tano collectible figure will be a an great addition among your Star Wars™ collection!

This figure continues Hot Toys streak of fantastic head sculpts on their Ahsoka line. They’ve done a great job at capturing Greenblatt’s likeness as the young Jedi, paired with the ability to move the figure’s eyes, and the incredibly detailed lekku, everything combines to make this a stunning figure.

Ahsoka comes with both a standard lightsaber hilt and a USB powered lightsaber hilt allowing you to light up the blade. Speaking of blades, Ahsoka comes with two blades, a straight blade and a motion blade to allow for some really dynamic poses. In addition to her lightsaber, she comes with the standard assortment of interchangeable hands and display base. She also comes with a pair of goggles which I don’t recall her wearing in the episode, but I will give Hot Toys some credit for trying to include some extra accessories on what could justify-ably be a pretty bare bones release.

Sideshow have also confirmed that this Ahsoka features a brand new body. This is fantastic news. The Clone Wars release used Hot Toys standard female body and, whilst she looks great, she does feel a little too tall next to Clone Wars Anakin. A new body means this new figure will scale much better with other characters, like the Captain Rex figure that Hot Toys offered last year.

And Rex isn’t the only one she’ll look good with. The Chosen One is coming to Hot Toys’ Ahsoka line. A slightly blurred preview in one of the promo shots features the back of Anakin Skywalker. And it looks like he either has some of the most intricately sculpted hair Hot Toys have ever done, or he may be the next Artisan release with rooted hair. Given the incredibly fast sell out of the Artisan Edition Revenge of the Sith Anakin, it makes sense that Hot Toys would consider doing an Artisan Edition of the Ahsoka version as well. Hopefully this time they’ll offer a sculpted option as well, like they did for their Artisan Joker, so those who can’t get the rooted version at least get a chance to purchase the figure if they want him.
