Hot Toys Unveils Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati Collectible Figures from ‘Ahsoka’

Hot Toys today unveiled two of the most anticipated figures in their Ahsoka line, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.

The enigmatic former Jedi and his apprentice look absolutely stunning in 1:6 scale and I am so glad that Hot Toys chose to put them both up for order at the same time. Now fans can order safe in the knowledge that both will be joining their collections rather than ordering one and hoping that the teased companion figure eventually see light of day as has sadly been the case with some past figures.

Revealing Baylan Skoll on Facebook, Hot Toys wrote:

“The only reason I’m here is to secure the future.” - Baylan Skoll

Baylan Skoll™ is lightsaber-wielding mercenary for hire overseeing his apprentice Shin Hati™. But make no mistake: although there was a time when Skoll knew the acclaimed Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker™, Baylan is no Jedi. Now allied to Morgan Elsbeth™, the former Magistrate of Calodan, after the fall of the Jedi and the Empire, Skoll remains a shrewd fighter in search of power who believes that another war is inevitable.

Today, Hot Toys is delighted to introduce the highly-anticipated 1/6th scale collectible figure of Baylan Skoll™ inspired by Star Wars: Ahsoka™.

The collectible figure features newly developed head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs to adjust the eyesight, meticulously crafted outfit and cloak, form-fitting under-suit, LED light-up lightsaber™, interchangeable lightsaber blades emulating the weapon in motion, and a display base.

This new Baylan Skoll™ collectible figure will surely be a masterpiece to add to all Star Wars™ fans’ collection!

And for Shin Hati:

“You have no power.” - Shin Hati™

The eager apprentice of Baylan Skoll™, Shin Hati is adept at lightsaber combat, a skill she uses in their work as mercenaries allied to Morgan Elsbeth™, the former Magistrate of Calodan™. But on a mission to another galaxy, Hati finds herself stranded without a Master and abandoned along with the bandits of Peridea™.

To further expand its Star Wars collectibles series, Hot Toys is delighted to officially introduce the highly-anticipated 1/6th scale Shin Hati™ collectible figure inspired by Star Wars: Ahsoka™ live action series.

The collectible figure features newly developed head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs to adjust the eyesight, skillfully tailored outfit and armor pieces, a cloak, LED light-up lightsaber, interchangeable lightsaber blades emulating the weapon in motion, a probe droid, holoprojector, and a display base!

This new Shin Hati™ collectible figure will surely be a phenomenal masterpiece to add to all Star Wars fans’ collection!

The detailing on both figures is exquisite. I’ve said it before but the face sculpts on the Ahsoka line continue to be some of Hot Toys best work, and the mixture of fabric and armor on these figures looks fantastic.

Both figures come with the standard Star Wars base and selection of hands, a standard lightsaber hilt, a USB powered LED lightsaber hilt, along with static and motion blades to allow for a wide variety of dynamic poses. They also feature Hot Toys’ now standard movable eyes, allowing the figure to look natural in every pose. Shin Hati also comes with a probe droid and a holoprojector. If I was being really picky I’d have liked Baylan to come with the map to Peridea, but the costume detailing on these two more than makes up for that minor oversight. And maybe it will come with future figure, like Morgan Elsbeth.

And these two aren’t the only Ahsoka figures Hot Toys have revealed recently. Last week they  surprised fans by announcing the Mandalorian Super Commando, a figure based on a trooper design that appeared for mere moments whilst fighting Ariana Greenblatt’s young Ahsoka in ‘Shadow Warrior‘.

Debuting the figure on Facebook, Hot Toys wrote:

During the Clone Wars, a coup orchestrated by Death Watch topples the pacifist regime of the New Mandalorians and returns the armored warrior culture to a position of power over the isolated world. What the average Mandalorian citizen does not realize, however, is that the takeover is in truth masterminded by a secret syndicate of criminals — the Shadow Collective led by Maul. Maul’s loyal Mandalorians modify their armor to reflect allegiance to the Dark Lord.

Hot Toys is pleased to introduce a new 1/6th scale collectible figure of Mandalorian Super Commando™ as seen in the Ahsoka live-action series!

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the appearance of the character in the show. It features highly detailed helmet and armor, skillfully tailored outfit, a jetpack, two blasters, energy shield and a sand themed display base.

Add the Mandalorian Super Commando™ collectible figure to your Star Wars action figure collection!

I think it’s safe to say that this was a figure no one saw coming. After teasing both the Death Trooper and Anakin Skywalker, and with major characters like Ezra Bridger, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati still, at the time, waiting in the wings, a figure of the Mandalorian Super Commando was certainly not what people expected to see next.

Hot Toys

That said, it’s easy to see why Hot Toys added this guy to their line up. Troopers generally sell well to Star Wars collectors and, whilst the Mandalorian Super Commandos only appeared briefly in Ahsoka, they got a little more screen time in The Clone Wars and the figure looks great when paired with Darth Maul in some of the promo shots. It also allows them to re-use a lot of tooling and costume work from existing figures and doesn’t require a head sculpt. This is essentially the Hot Toys version of when Hasbro retooled the Black Series Jango Fett figure into their own Mandalorian Super Commando. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but at this price point I generally expect more from Hot Toys.

The figure comes with a pair of blasters, gauntlet shield, and jetpack, along with the standard assortment of hands and display base.

The Mandalorian Super Commando is available to pre-order now at Sideshow Collectibles and other retailers, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati should both be up for pre-order soon. All three figures are due to be released in Q1 2025/Q2 2025.

With the reveal of Baylan and Shin, I guess I only have one question left for Hot Toys – where’s Ezra?
