New Duracell Commercial Featuring Shoretroopers and Stormtroopers

duracellLike it was before with The Force Awakens, we got another spectacular commercial that gives us a glimpse at what we ca expect from Rogue One.

And it is also for a good cause:

Join Duracell in donating to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to power imaginations of kids throughout the holidays. To make a donation, visit CMNHospitals.org/Duracell

It is just a commercial so don’t read too much into it. Still, it’s great to look at scenes that might appear in a similar way in the film.

I REALLY like the level of detail with regard to the ISD-1 design, right down to the projector dishes on the forward corners of the dorsal docking bay. If as much attention went into the Rogue One script as clearly went into the ANH-era model and costume designs (Vader’s undercloak aside, of course) I think we’re in for a real treat in December.

I noticed that as well. Hasn’t it been confirmed that his undercloak is correct now when viewed in the trailer? Either way I can’t wait for the movie. It looks fantastic!

I actually hadn’t noticed whether his undercloak has been changed or not. That’d be a heck of a commitment to visual detail if they did go back and do that! But I don’t think it’ll spoil the movie’s overall ANH-style effect for me if they didn’t.

Yep. Pablo Hidalgo commented on Twitter regarding that. Somebody asked him about it, and the artwork that was used was either promo stuff or just placeholder artwork. He said for people to wait until the movie comes out before people complian about the costume being different. In the official trailer he appears at around 2:04 and it is hard to see, but I can JUST make it out to be correct, though I’m entirely sure it is possible for me to be imagining it. I also think I saw Tarkin in the Rogue One Celebration reel as well at 1:06 and starts to walk away at 1:08. I saw it on my 60 inch LED TV in my living room and am pretty convinced of it.

Either way, both Vader’s helmet and outfit change in every movie very slightly anyhow, but whatever they do it should be very close if not identical to ANH, as it is said that this move ends “minutes” before ANH.

I figured both Vader looks are in the movie.

Well, it’s a good score, so why not?

The TFA score reminds me of the holidays now, so for me it fits perfectly with this.

That was a really neat commercial. I love all the little star wars imagination commercials they put out like this and back with the force awakens. Though, I wonder if it’ll be a problem (or people will complain about it) with this movie being a “gritty war film” and possibly PG-13 that they’re attaching it to kids.
But then again they made a cartoon about Rambo soo…

They also made a cartoon about Robocop, Mortal Kombat, and Ghostbusters, the latter of which became a cult family film.

Granted, this was all back in the 80s/early 90s when PG meant “actually make sure your kids will be okay to watch this” instead of “it’s okay, parents, you can hang out on your phone til it’s over”.

R2-D2 CONFIRMED! Heehee… But seriously, is there a chance that R2 and Threepio may make it into Rogue One?

On the tantive IV perhaps? Would be a good note to go out on.

i bet it ends with them on the Tantive IV, and the Star Destroyer just comes up on them and 3PO is all “Oh my…!”. Cut to credits.

That’d be awesome. This way, they would have appeared in every movie.

I hope so. They are the thread that runs through all seven of the movies (I guess you could say a bit of Anakin was in TFA…) I would love them to be in it.
