These series has now a serious problem: by far, the most interesting conflict is Ashoka and Vader’s, and none of them is a main character.

It was cool and I’m kind of excited to see the new inquisitors, for this season. Also, this is kind of off topic but could Supreme Leader Snoke be an old inquisitor that use to work for the empire and that Kylo Ren is being trained to become one?

    • June 21, 2015 at 11:09 pm
      Permalink

Can’t be. Because of the rule of two I believe that the Inquisitor isn’t really a sith, so Snoke is probably not an inquisitor and Kylo Ren won’t be for sure.

And plus, I like sith lords better than inquisitors. It sounds cooler, and Inquisitors can’t use the Force up to maximum level, like using Force Choke or Force Lightning. But sith lords like Vader can.

      • June 22, 2015 at 12:23 am
        Permalink

Do you even realize how stupid that sounds? Their ability to use the force has nothing to do with what cultish faction they call their selves.

        • June 24, 2015 at 9:09 pm
          Permalink

Yeah it does. Inquisitors can’t use the Force as much as sith lords, because that would be breaking the rule of two.

Agreed, I also loved when Vader was talking to Sidius at the end. It was Empire Strikes Back all the way. That “Such as Kenobi” line literally had me more geeked than I’ve been in so long.

      • June 22, 2015 at 3:04 pm
        Permalink

I like how you can tell that Kenobi is frequently on Vader’s mind. I’m sure he’s a sore spot with Vader and the Emperor, as well as Yoda. A great deal of Imperial resources have probably been expended trying to find them both. It makes sense that the Emperor would be interested in capturing Ahsoka for this reason, hoping that she is still in contact with the old Jedi masters and will help lead the Sith Lords to them. Vader may have a different motive, though. Even though his disdain for his master is not apparent yet in Rebels as it is after ANH, he still craves his master’s position. In Lords of the Sith he confesses that he has thought of supplanting his master. He doesn’t realize he has children yet, so realizing Ahsoka is still alive may be the opportunity he’s been waiting for. My guess is Vader will try to turn her and recruit her as his apprentice once again. I predict he will not succeed and will be forced to kill her. However, it would also be cool to have Ahsoka turn to the dark side and join Vader only to be killed by the Emperor when he finds out what Vader has done behind his back.

Mostly, I loved it, but I do have a few concerns. Vader, being responsible for the explosion that killed the Imperial female officer. Too prequelish. It’s not Vader’s character to be sneaky like this. And Vader’s TIE made too many impossible maneuvers and also he was taking on the entire Rebel fleet by himself. Again, impossible. Other than that, the story was great.

IMO, you are wrong at two points, because Vader can, yes be sneaky. These tatics of putting tracking devices is very much of him, and you must remember that assassination to incriminate rebels and achieve public support is very commonly used by the Empire.
And about the TIE maneuvers, let´s not forget that he is one of the best pilots in the galaxy and that his X1 prototype is specially modified to amplify it´s maneuvers with the Force, like the Jedi did in the Clone Wars with they modified fighters. But I understand your concern and perhaps it was exagerated. Again IMO it was totally badass and awesome to watch, so I was not bothered with that

But Vader has to live, so the creators had to make the TIE do things like that.

I agree withthe person talking before, who mentioned the fact that he lives in a country where this is not yet released.
I have the same problem. I’ve already seen every clone wars episode via streaming because they were going to release them years later and on pay-tv channels in my country. Then I bought the collector’s blu-ray, no way that I was going to keep on watching the clone wars in lame streaming quality.
A lot of people I know just download any movie from the web, even if they’re still playing in theaters.I usually first search for renting a movie, and if I like it, eventually I buy it. I feel they’re the ones that should be accused by committing a crime: I watched every single movie via rental and afterall I came to watch rebels via streaming because I couldn’t find any other way. Should I wait for another year and pay an excessive price for decoder sistems (around 29 euros/month) just to watch a single show, just because I don’t live in the US? No.

Showing a series that is pushed as being an “official” part of the saga on an obscure channel that only a few people get is theft. This is Disney, not some up-and-coming independent drama house. The world is not black/white.

Edit: and I even watched it on broadcast. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy, Your Conscience, and mind your own business.

fanboys are ewerywhere. And if Disney is not capable or interested on bringing the show to our countries, we have two options. Wait 6-12 months until the bluray is out, or try to find it sooner on the net. As someone said, we buy tons of merchandise, original dvds and blurays, we are the fanboys who supported the franchise for so many years, and we would like to be treated as such. And if Disney doesn’n care, we don’t care either

I’ll say it isn’t theft. Theft is stealing something that isn’t yours…this is “ours” since it’s available to the public..now I’ve found previous episodes on Amazon.com is this not there and available for other countires? If so, downloading without paying for it is theft. If not, there is no other option to get it and Disney has “released” it so there is nothing to conclude other than this is how they prefer for people to watch it since it would be easy to monetize for them.

I don’t mind accepting I am a theft when it comes to Rebels. I paid more money to Lucasfilm than any other corporation in the world and I just want to see how the story goes on.

I guess going to see The Force Awakens 7 or 10 times in the theater is going to compensate that.

But yeah, I am a theft as well.

Also, as I just wrote that, which is my words, and you didn’t ask me my permission to read it, it’s also theft… or wait… but it’s public… like this episode of Disney?

All you pirate moralists at the end are just hypocritical theives of time.

Dude, even the US Supreme Court has ruled that Piracy is NOT theft. At best, it might conceivably be “Copyright Infringement”. Not theft.

The act of stealing, would involve me taking something from you, which you no longer have after I’ve taken it. If I download something from your computer, you still have it on your computer. That’s called File Sharing (or Piracy for the ignoramuses like yourself)

I realize that there are people who don’t know this because of DVDs and Blue Rays, the internet and so on, but there were times where people owned VHS-recorders. And if you knew that there’d be a movie you wouldn’t be able to watch you would program your recorder to be able to watch it later. Nobody in their right mind ever used to call that “theft”.

Streaming is not much different other than somebody else recorded it for you so that you could watch it later on. I first watched the SW-movies in cinema. Then I watched and recorded them as they were on tv. Later on I bought the VHS-versions. Then I got it on dvd. If a product is good it will sell, no matter what.

I just loved how Vader was used so appropriately. He showed barely any effort and slung Kanan and Ezra around like rag dolls. Also aside from “the apprentice lives” which gave everyone chills, his mention of Kenobi definitely shows the beginning of that obsession of finding Obi Wan. Cant wait to see whats in store!

And all these years I was under the impression that Vader was surprised that Obi-Wan still lives at the time of A new Hope…at least Tarkin was pretty sure non of the Jedi would be alive. I guess they had only X-wings and Y-wings on that base. The rebel alliance surely wasn’t hiding only on that planet, Yavin 4 maybe was just a smaller base or anyhow was too far from the fleet. I guess A-wings and B-wings stayed with the fleet at the time.

I agree! There should be a forget everything around ANH, ESB, ROJ (1977-1983 movies) and maybe the Kyle Katarn Dark Forces 1993 side-story by LucasArts for pre-1999 knowledge and gauge 2015’s TFA for carrying on something George Lucas should have done or produced out (if he could)! All other Star Wars circus acts (sorry Qui-Gonn/Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul prequel interest and Count Duku and a little Grievous additional material in pre-stories I did not care about up to 1999) was information overload. I have ANH that J.J. Abrams will be the one who brings balance to the force, no puns intended to TPM 1999!

Vader was done well. You can see that he could easily kill Kanan and Ezra but he is using them to get to the larger cell. Only Ashokas presence saves them since DV then declares he wants the rebels alive. I still think Ashoka will be the one to tell Kenobi who Vader is, so at some point we are going to see Obi Wan. I would think Yoda too since he knows in ESB, but maybe Obi tells him through the Force.

OB1 and Yoda already know Ani is Vader. They watch the security tape in ROTS where the Emperor says rise Darth Vader.

No, Obi Wan and Yoda both hear Palpatine call Anakin “Lord Vader” when they watch the surveillance video at the Jedi temple in Revenge of the Sith. They already know it is him, they don’t need Ahsoka to tell them.

Which I always had a problem with because if the Jedi had a video of Palp admitting to being the Sith lord and killing the four Jedi in his office and the massacre at the temple, why not show it to the rest of the galaxy as proof to what actually happened??? That was my biggest problem with RotS. To the OPs point, they know AS was called Vader, but Obi left him for dead… At some point he will have to find out that DV is more machine now than man.

Umm geee how to respond to this, did you even like watch Revenge of the Sith?

Like no. Yoda and Obi-Wan already know.

Is it just me, or was Ahsoka’s scream when she learns who Vader is, a little too … short? This was such a highly anticipated moment, and for the most part it was handled well, but if Ahsoka’s scream had been twice as long before she fainted (emptying her lungs), it would have been perfect.

After all, this has to be the most terrible moment in her life so far. In all of Star Wars, only Luke has an even darker moment of revelation, when HE learns who Darth Vader really is. He screamed too.

I’m pretty damn sure having watched this episode myself, that the episode does not directly indicate that Snips knows who Vader is.

In fact, none of the characters are even aware of the name Vader.

Asohka may find out before her time on the show is done, but she certainly does not know that Anakin is Vader at all, she’s definitely curious to find out the identity of that pilot though.

Also what are you people complaining about how the maneuverability of Vader’s TIE isn’t realistic even talking about?

Hello? No gravity, no friction…aerodynamics don’t even apply in space. Hurp durp.

Yeah, I think I remember similar moves like that being described being done in x-wings in some of the legends books.

I liked it a lot. Loved the couple of Ralph McQuarrie nods like Lando’s droid and the Vader v Starkiller shot during the Kanan battle.
And I am very happy that Vader will now go back into the background so a new Inquisitor can come on as we can’t see Vader lose a lot of ground against the rebels.
Liked seeing the A-Wings and the way they launched in space too.

Am I the only one who wants to see a martial arts fight between Sabine and Boba Fett?

Loved it! I feels a lot like ESB; Vader is bad ass! The part where he realizes his old apprentice lives was chilling. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!
