The wait is nearly over – the first season Star Wars Rebels will be available for purchase in September, as previously speculated (though slightly earlier than previously thought). Click ahead to see a list of special features…

From the official Star Wars website:

Hera, Kanan, Ezra, Sabine, Zeb, and Chopper (whether he likes it or not) are coming home. But not to Lothal.

Furthermore, an additional report from Stitch Kingdom lists the following Special Features as being a part of the package:

BONUS FEATURES (DVD):

I agree, but the even the Clone Wars didn’t get really pretty until a few seasons in IMO.

    15 episodes?

    • June 26, 2015 at 11:40 pm
      Permalink

The movie counts as two episodes, and the rest of the season, thirteen.

Collectively, all of the shorts put together compromise another episode, going by production codes.

Yes, thank you, I found the same explanation, but I will never understand this inconsequent approach regarding the numbers of the episodes.

On one hand, they stressed that Spark of Rebellion is an independent TV movie. The official S01E01 episode was ‘Droids in Distress’.

Furthermore, if it counts as two, the 2+13+1(the shorts) episodes give 16.

The shorts are only included on the Blu-Ray release. I think that’s why they don’t say “16 episodes”.

In any case, you can watch all four shorts online for free.

            🙂
So the final conclusion is that ‘Spark of Rebellion’ is not so independent but it includes the episodes S01E00 and S01E0.5 – or something similar.

    One special feature opportunity missed:

15 minutes of the person that came up with the laser slingshot being pelted by a real one.

    Who wouldn’t buy this then!?

So true. Really tacky, like the lightsaber/blaster combo.

Add in the graffiti element and some other small cheesy elements and it just makes you roll your eyes.

      I know, it’s for kids…..whatever.

Yes, Ezra’s lightstaple gun is only a minor improvement at best.

It really does look like a stapler. So in season 1 we basically have Aladdin running around in Agrabah with a slingshot and a stapler, causing trouble and always keeping one jump ahead of the breadline.

He’s already an orphan. All that’s missing is the monkey. Star Wars really went full Disney.

Just wait a couple of months for it to be heavily discounted.
Disclaimer: Now it’s owned by Disney though it might be a very long wait.

I buy a lot of used blurays on amazon… if you can be patient & wait a few months or a year after release… you could probably pick it up for somewhere between 8 to 20 dollars used. While perhaps not ideal for packaging, I’ve never had an issue with used blurays… and I have probably 300 used discs in my collection 🙂

Shucks! After ending the CW cartoon series with Order 66 and bridging EP II to EP III your request is now on Season 2 episode I: Ashoka returns!? Now the adventure begins (forget the Kyle Katarn or Dash Rendar stories) but … well let’s say great Jedi must be sacrificed (parallel to Darth Maul/Darth Tyranus for Sith and Ben Kenobi for Luke Skywalker) so we eventually have … Episode 7 TFA’s new Star Wars experiences! Hooray J.J. Abrams I AM STILL DYING HERE AND ONLY ON LIFE SUPPORT! … WILL I MAKE IT!?
