UPDATE! Star Wars: Rebels Season 1 DVD/Blu-ray to be Available on September 10 in Europe and September 1 in the US?

Rebels

Fans of the new TV show Rebels were quite anxious to find out, when the complete first season with their favourite characters will be released on DVD/Blu-ray. Many people expected that an official announcement will be made during the Rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration. It didn’t happen. Now an unofficial listing on Amazon.de might finally give us the answer…

For now the animated show is only listed on the German Amazon site. Amazon.de has the item listed for pre-order with a release date of September 10.

The price of the complete season will be 45 Euro for the Blu-ray (1 Blu-ray) and 33 Euro for the DVD (3 DVDs). I assume the price for the US market will be similar – around $50 for the Blu-ray. Which is a bit higher considering that TCW – The Lost Missions were sold for $35 and they included 13 episodes + bonus content. Still this info is not officially confirmed.

We can soon expect other countries to list the item, but probably the release date and the price will be similar.

UPDATE!

Jedi News spotted that the US Amazon is now listing the first complete season of Rebels for September 1st release. The Blu-ray will cost $46.

I think Amazon.de was the first to list Clone Wars: The lost missions on Blu-Ray. So hopefully this is legit.

I asked Filoni if he knew a general timeframe of when this will be released and of course I didn’t get a reply. Hell, a yes or a no would have been sufficient.:)

OK DISNEY… A LOT of people are going to buy this…..but not at $50????? Don’t alienate fans with this. That is at least $20 too much for those few episodes. I know this is a premature report and I among MANY others hope it is not true!!!

Disney is terrible with price-points this way…Agents of Shield is still $50 in most places despite Disney/Marvel being in production on the THIRD season. Most TV seasons quickly drop to $19.99 or some even $14.99 a few months after release! Disney charges so much because they can get away with it and die hard fans are willing to pay. I swear if they ever put the original Star Wars in the “Disney Vault” to create scarcity then I’ll be first in line with my torch and pitchfork.

Original as in A New Hope, Not original as in unaltered. If Disney included that on Blu-Ray I pay $50 in a heartbeat!

It’s about time but for that price!? I want to show this to my kid but man, I might just have to find other ways for him to see it.

Agreed. No wonder people go to illegal sites when things cost so much. Disney have always been greedy. When Disney land first opened, the entrance fee could only be afforded by the well off. Nothing has changed and Disney certainly has a dark side.

How is not wanting to be ripped off for a pile of crap equate to being a free loader? BTW, I do have a job and if I didn’t, it wouldn’t be any of your business. You seem the type to laugh at people less fortunate than yourself which in my opinion, makes you a very shallow and sad piece of human excrement. .

It cracks me up when people come on these things and post comments like . ” who cares” or ” am i the only one who can care less about this??” besides the fact that these are people who have no doubt not even watched the series, ( maybe they watched an episode or two) which is pretty sad because the show actually got pretty awesome, and this is coming from someone who absolutely HATED this show when it first aired. But really…why even come on here and post at all? If you are not interested in Rebel’s i do not see why it is so hard for you to just NOT even click on a link that you are “Not interested in”..lol…you seriously make yourselves look like complete tools… “Whats this? an article about a show i dont even like?? Well well well!!! let me just go read it real fast and then comment about how much i dont even care about this because my life is so uneventful that i have nothing better to do than waste my time on things i am not even interested in!!!!”……pffft. i cant wait for this to come out on Blue ray! i dont have disney XD, Time Warner Cable does not provide it for some reason here. So i have been forced to watch low quality versions from other sources. I would imagine that there will be cool bonus content as well as the seeds of the rebellion included…i will gladly pay 50 for this.

You took the words out of my mouth. If you don’t even care about Rebels, and you’re reading, and commenting on the release of its DVD, you may be a pathetic life form. Yes?

Just because someone does not care for Rebels that does not make them pathetic. That is a pretty douchey thing for you to say.

I REALLY hope this has the expanded 2:35:1 aspect ratio like The Clone Wars did for their Bluray releases, but I feel like they just made it 16:9 cause of Disney. The expanded aspect ratio just made the series feel more like legitimate films, since Star Wars was always shot that way. Star Wars looks so cramped in 1:78:1 otherwise.

This would at least make me feel like I am getting something extra for the purchase price. Also, they better not count Spark Of Rebellion as something seperate.

It has always been exensive to put Star Wars in one’s shelve, but those prices are just ridicilous. And I bet there won’t be much of extra cool bonus material on it.

Just one Blu-ray or three DVD discs seem too few to hold all the episodes with good quality. I suppose this is provisional info.
I’d wish the season will come complete, with the four shorts and the Vader-extended double feature. And some juicy extras (Bad Batch…)

Not to say anything against this show at all because I like it, but it should be in the $10 bin with all the other cartoons. WAAAAY over priced. And it’s not just Disney.

Most worry some aspect of this show is to destroy the fact Luke is the last Jedi established in OT. Recent comment coming from the producer in SW convention is
    very elusive.
