Billie Lourd Shoots Down Yet Another Rumor About her Character from The Force Awakens
The 22-year-old daughter of Carrie Fisher, in her first-ever editorial feature, spoke with Interview magazine, and debunked yet another rumor about her character from The Force Awakens…
As you probably remember there were two popular rumors on who Billie Lourd will be playing in The Force Awakens. The first one was that she will be playing young Princess Leia in a flashback scene. The young actress debunked this rumor back in May (HERE).
The other rumor was that she will be playing Leia’s daughter in the movie. Now Billie shot down that rumor as well.
From TheWrap:
Lourd earned a degree from NYU last year, but pursued her secret dream (acting) nonetheless — landing a part in the very franchise that made her mother a star decades ago.
“This is the first job I’ve ever had — right into the fire,” Lourd told Interview of the top-secret “Star Wars” project. While she declined to share details about her character, she was quick to shoot down rumors linking her to Fisher’s iconic Princess Leia, who will also return in the new film.
“I’m not Princess Leia’s daughter,” she said.
It’s nice to finally put those two rumors to rest, especially after they were the most obvious ones.
Considering her words from last month,
“I can’t tell you about my character, or lack of character…”
she most likely will end up having a brief role or one that is wearing a mask and/or a costume.

Sure is cute!
As beautiful as her mother!
hope she ages better
but no awfull plastic surgery (yet)
And grandmother.
Quite possibly, her “part” is little more than a cameo, as a favor from the director to Mom.
What a surprise!
Of course she can’t have any lead role, because she has no experience.
As opposed to Daisy Ridley’s vast screen credits. My favorite role was “Stage Hand.” What a performance!
And Carrie Fisher only had one credit (small part in Shampoo) before Star Wars.
Her part will no doubt be quite small. Perhaps no more than a simple cameo appearance or maybe someone who only has 2 – 3 lines, similar to Kiera Knightley’s role in The Phantom Menace.
the “lack of character” she refers to is having her head digitally removed and replaced with her mother’s while she wields the laser sword.
I’m pretty sure she’s just coasting on the taste of fame, and when it’s all said and done no one will even notice her tiny cameo without having it pointed out.
You’re so cruel! But maybe she’ll surprise you and turn out to be another Keira Knightly.
She might be the new Hut slave girl =P
Abrams to Fisher: “Lucas sends his regards.”
Passing down the family bikini
why do OT fans hate on midichlorians but prise the Leia bikini as if it was the greatest thing since sliced bread?
Because one crushed dreams while the other fulfilled them.
Yea news has been really slow. Next month at SDCC should be better
She is wearing a costume in a flashback on Tattoine.
Yeah, she’s playing a small part in the movie, she’s related to Carrie Fisher. EVERYBODY PANIC!
There is no way she is playing the daughter of Princess Leia, she looks nothing like Carrie Fischer…….
may be only a voice work for BB8 or other Droid
Poker Face ???? She may be bluffing.
Poker face? yeah definitely
rebel officer?
I think “lack of character” implies she will be a character red 7 or Biggs. Someone with a name and character but not much in the way of screen time or gravitas.
She’s more action figure now than character. Plastic and “Made in China”.
Maybe she’s the Queen of Naboo. Like her grandmother before her.
Wait… what?
Well i hope she has a costume…
I think the Episode 7 Starwars Campaign starting to wear abit thin now already. A teaser 3 needs to come out again soon or some quality news on Rouge One or summit.
Quite an unbecoming photo. She looks like someone police would find hiding in a closet during a crack house raid.
She’s pretty. But wow does she look unamused!
She needs to work on that.
maybe not princess leias daughter. but maybe queen leias.
So she’s using the “Exact Words” trick to stave off rumors, I’m guessing…Nice. Of course for all we know, Han and Leia might have split up in the 30 years between VI and VII, thus no children!
Yeah yeah, and Benedict Cumberbatch claimed he wasn’t playing Khan.
