A Good Look at the Black Series First Order Stormtrooper Action Figure from The Force Awakens.
Want to get a look at the first of many Hasbro action figures? Jedi Insider has revealed images of the First Order Stormtrooper action figure, and the special packaging this action specific figure comes in.
Something worth noting is that the packaging for this item does not match the Kylo Ren packaging done for other merchandise for The Force Awakens. Jedi Insider speculates that the package the Stormtrooper toy is placed in is part of a special set, possibly to be sold as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive. Of course, that’s not to say that the toy won’t be sold when Force Friday hits in early September – the Stormtrooper, after all, is the bread and butter of Star Wars toy line.

That rifle looks really cool
Interesting that they’ve got him holding an old-school Imperial blaster rifle in the unboxed photos, but that they appear to have First Order sidearms in the package.
Was thinking same thing, something fishy about this.
I think the top three photos are a different set that was on the internet 2 or 3 weeks ago. MSW showed his off a couple of weeks ago and it had the black guns.
The rifle in the unboxed photo looks identical in design as the rifle in the box. The only difference is the unboxed rifle is solid black.
Actually, do a closer comparison between the two. The sculpts are similar, but not identical.
Its not even close. The old e-11 blaster has the original clip located on its left side, while the new one has it on the right. The new model has sharper edges all around, while the old e-11 has some roundness to it (being based on an actual Sterling machinegun)
You are correct. I admit my error.
Re packaging:
First off, it says it’s in the black series line, probably 6″ by the box style.
Second, there’s a tag for the “Evolution of the Stormtrooper.” We might be getting a series of 6″ black figures, perhaps including rereleases of CT’s, ST’s, & scouts. Perhaps even Snows or ARCs.
^ this… I remember when Attack of the Clones came out, they released a preview Jango Fett figure that wasn’t part of the official Hasbro line that came out in conjunction with the film. I think you are right on the money. This is a probably a special TFA preview figure that will be the last of a special series trooper line. Very cool.
oops reported mistakenly
the new weapon is very cool..its gonna be a very expensive Christmas for my girlfriend!!..lol
You have a girlfriend?
Loving the new Stormtrooper look! Maybe a tad picky of me, but I think the new First Order symbol falls short of being “original and ominous” like the Imperial symbol from the OT. Other than that, this figure is sweet.
TAKE MY MONEY
This is looking so fucking dope! Please be a SDCC exclusive! It would give us (me) way more incentive for going lol
how much does that cost?
best pictures I’ve seen on the internets so far. thanks!
Looks awesome. I want one pretty bad…
I can’t get past the sunglasses. They look like beach troopers.
My feeling on the new Stormtroopers is mixed.
In the trailer, they look good, a nice blank slate to work with, the same way the OT Stormtroopers were a blank slate that could work in any scenario.
However, seeing it in action figure form has none of this quality to it.
Maybe it’s just me not being used to new things, but for me, I just can’t quite imagine holding this toy in my hands. There’s just something dumb-looking about it, and it’s just a little too Power Ranger-y, IDK, I’ll probably get used to it, but still, I like the original better.
The two best stormtrooper toys I ever had was a classic sandtrooper w/ rifle and shoulder pauldron,

and this guy:

just in my limited experience of SW toys, in terms of cool-factor and play-articulation, these two are the best of the ‘Troopers.
Thoughts?
Just saying, this was on eBay not too long ago. And SWU did an article on this. Now, what I’ll say is in the original pictures, he has the black original Blaster. And as people noted in SWU it was black as the new guns have white. So what’s strange to me is now, weeks after that was noted, a new image comes out with the white blaster. And something about the actual design and material, it just seems so cheap for a Black Series Figure. But again, Star Wars underworld had those same pictures minus the box weeks ago and it was on eBay for sale. So that just makes me think it’s a fake, not hard to make some packaging like that. And the black blaster in the original pictures, weird they suddenly added white boasters after so many pointed it out, guess we’ll find out in time, just looks cheap to me compared to other Black Series
Looks cool. The first order logo is kinda boring
Don’t over think the blaster, this has been most likely leaked/smuggled/stolen from a factory in Asia. They often don’t get the figure’s accessories so have to use stand ins. The packaged photos appear to be from a different time/place than the unboxed.
It’s a separate action figure in each photo set (unboxed pics vs boxed pics) if you examine minor paint flaws etc.
Meh. Still looks like iMotorcycle leathers more than a stormtrooper, with a gun designed by Hasbro. Nope.
