The entire show has been weak. Stopped watching so I can’t comment on this specific episode. Wrong era for a new jedi and an apprentice. The characters are lame and cliché. Acting is lousy. Avoid this terrible show.

I’m just glad there was a black guy in Star Wars again.

Star Wars isn’t about black or white. It is about good acting, good characters and good stories. Whether the person is black or white is quite irrelevant.

I appreciate Lando and don’t care what colour his skin is. Enough White Guilt!!!

The producers/directors choose people for the characters based on their abilities not their colour!!

          Brilliant comment right there.

If they’re good and right for the part, then they’ve got the job. Star Wars is fantastically diverse. People are literally all different colours – black / white / green / blue etc So what does it matter?

The people who say ‘There aren’t enough black people in Star Wars’ can be just as bad as the idiots who created a furore about #blackstormtrooper. Either side are not doing themselves any favours – particularly as it has been suggested that Finn and Rey might get together. As Boyega said: ‘Get used to it’

The black / white / latino / Asian people in TFA were not chosen for the roles because of their colour – they were chosen because they were the best people for the part. That is TRUE equality, and I for one applaud it.

right there. beautifully said. good lord enough bickering and nit picking and second guessing on these issues with star wars. with all the crappiness of humans going on in the world, frigging starwars is the last damn place to be concerned about, where aliens, beings not even human, are given “equal footing”.

The show is well made and for those who don’t like it, you have to remember that this is aimed for the new generation of Star Wars fans (i.e. little kids).

I dunno some of the actions in this series can be pretty dark. Ezra’s vision in path of the jedi is the first one that comes to mind. I find for me its written for kids AND their parents who grew up with the OT.

I know it was going to have some darker moments when agent kallus murdered a stormtrooper for no reason in the first episode

I’m not reading any of it. Just posting a comment. This is the third story you’ve had on this episode of the show.

    There is other news.

The first Star Wars poster was released in Japan (about a week ago)

You never covered the fact that Brent Spiner (Data from Star Trek) is the voice of the traitorous Imperial in Rebels.

Nor did you cover the fact that there, indeed, will be a Star Wars trailer in the Superbowl (whether it’s new or the original teaser, we’re not sure)

For people who “work harder than I do” there seems to be a little lacking…

    Enjoyed it overall

It’s clear Billy de Williams is getting on a bit bless him. It was kind of at odds with playing his younger self. That sharpness just want there, just a laid back nice old guy.

Wasn’t why they did it. Why does everyone keep harping on about the fact that a “black” person was in Star Wars “at last” as you guys put it.

If you continue to make it seem like there is a difference between black and white, there always will be!!

If people would stop going on about it and just think of all people types as equal, lots of the problem would go away.

We would look at Lando and think great character, not oh there is finally a black person in Star Wars. We would look at people rather than constantly putting them in categories as though what colour their skin is, is important!!

It’s amazing that lando’s reprise becomes an issue of color we all know the characters of the ot and their color yet people complain about the lack of diversity. We are now on the final countdown of the new chapter in the saga one that could possibility show case a lot more diversity not to mention female tk’s but above all that have we forgot the roots and the most iconic villain of all time voiced by none other than James earl jones . To be critical of the cast and castings decisions is one dead Tauntaun that’s been kicked enough.

i havent seen the lando episode, i will, but the one before, path of the jedi? or whatever it was called was the empire strikes back of the series so far. definitely kicked the show up a notch in intensity, i thought it was awesome. its a show made for all ages, and i applaud the return to our “core” star wars universe. i choose to enjoy it.

I think a lot of the vitriol this show receives is due to the fact that people feel like it is responsible for killing a far superior Star Wars cartoon in The Clone Wars.

Obviously all shows take a while to find their footing, so I’m willing to give Rebels a season or two. But so far this show can’t hold The Clone Wars jock.

You must have been reading different Clone Wars review sites than I was. All I ever seemed to see was hatred for Ahsoka, Padme and Boba, hatred of the ‘kiddie’ droids episodes, hatred of anything that deviated from the EU and an endless wishing that it was grimmer and darker. I personally enjoyed it a great deal, but I find it hard to believe that the same people who spent their every waking minute criticising it now hate Rebels because it ‘killed’ it.

Billy D kinda dropped the ball on the acting here. Doesn’t seem like the same character at all. Sounds like an old man. I guess he is now but still.

Getting sick of the cornball antics on the ship. Everything that moves the plot forward in the show is the result of an accident, goofing around, or a mistake. It’s OK to throw a one-liner or two in there, but lately it’s like watching Spongebob and Patrick Star — or maybe the Roadrunner and the Coyote is more like it. The Empire never poses a threat, and is reduced to a bunch of bumbling idiots. It’s like I am made to feel thankful every time one minute of seriousness enters the show. The Clone Wars was so much better.
