Was it just me or did i notice first order symbols on the the outfits and the medical supplies?
I thought those were the Empire’s symbols.
that is the republic symbol from clone wars and prequels.
More feminist drivel about strong female characters. As if they’ve never existed before.
Not as many in comparison with ‘Strong” Male characters. Why do people get so bent out of shape when Women say they want more Strong Female characters…
He could understand; he just doesn’t want to. It is easier for people like him to feel sorry for themselves over imagined nonsense than it is for such people to feel empathy.
You’re the one who doesn’t understand. Feminists hate women.
I think you’ve got something mixed up. Misogynist hate women. Feminist believe in equality of the sex’s.
Correction, true feminists do. Unfortunately feminist movements have managed to acquire an unhealthy number of misandrists in their midst, and this is what is causing people to think that feminists are sexist.
A majority of them I would say. So it’s hardly a misunderstanding.
You’re saying a majority based on what?
Are you trying to convince me that the peaceful and rational feminists are in majority, and that it’s only a coincidence we see these vulgar, radicalist, red lipped screaming sea bears daily in the media?
I’d imagine “real feminists” wouldn’t even call themselves feminists anymore, but rather Egalitarians, so as to distance themselves from the modern hate group.
Um… How is that a correction in any way? Second, an “unhealthy number” is completely vague and not really helpful when it comes to defining a problem. My guess is most people that think feminists are sexist are misinformed bigoted fools, like the original poster, who harbor ill will towards the rights of women regardless of how feminists present themselves. In short although you’ve presented your position effectively, I don’t agree with the narrative that your proposing.
Well, I suppose that all depends on whether or not you think that one who considers themselves feminist speaks for all of them. I.e they are one large monolith with a single opinion?
No. Feminists hate women. They want women to become men, and men to become women.
When the fedora is too tight, complaining in Internet comments Memorian will do all night.
The problem is this. We don’t call male characters “strong male characters” despite the fact that there are plenty of weak ones present around them. They’re just characters who happen to kick ass. And that’s all there is to it. But whenever a woman happens to kick ass, feminists call them “strong female character”. As if the opposite is always expected.
“If they want more female characters they shouldn’t speak of it. They should just do it instead of making a big deal out of it. That if anything is sexist.”
Waa?? I don’t think the person coming from the group that’s usually always represented in an array of different characters and personalities should be telling the group that usually isn’t how they should think or feel or go about doing things. So women shouldn’t complain or speak out about how they’re portrayed in media? Not all women are in a position of power to write these characters, so the only thing they can do is speak out and give their opinion to change how people present them.
Are you saying women are coming from a different place than me? I’m sorry. When last I checked western men and women grew up together in the same households and were free to enjoy the same opportunities. This is the western world after all. I don’t care one bit about what you “feel” is happening if you come to a logically faulty conclusion. I only care about what is actually happening, and what is not.
Again. Having females that kick ass on television is nothing uncommon. As a matter of fact it’s been quite common for the last 20 years. And this happened completely without feminists pointing their fingers.
Acting like females presence in action stories is something revolutionary and new, while pretending men have kept them out, is a LIE and damn near incitement.
While it is definitely improving, women are not yet equal in western society.
Yes they are.
Yes, that’s why politics, entertainment, the media, the film industry, the legal profession, the medical profession and the military, to name but a few sectors of society, are all heavily male dominated.
Women may well have the same legal rights in the West, but you’re living in a fantasy world if you think they have equal standing.
Oh. I wasn’t aware that women are being systematically excluded from these areas? Well if that is the case, since gender discrimination is heavily regarded as a crime, it is obviously a matter for the EEOC. There you go. Problem solved.
I don’t see why the areas you mention should be filled with women if women generally are not as interested in them as men obviously are. You can’t force women to apply for educations they themselves do not want.
Women are not forbidden from these areas. There are simply fewer of them. Why? Because men and women have different interests by nature.
Riiiiiight. So man dominate everything because women aren’t interested in careers, power or resposibility? lol. Utterly ludicrous statement.
Who says women don’t have careers? All men and women make their own choices. They are responsible for their own lives. If you don’t like the way it turns out, then get a career yourself and try to even the odds instead of whining and calling foul play. No one is gonna try to stop you.
I am a man you idiot.
Who said women don’t have careers? Does that mean they are equal? You’re either intellectually limited, obtuse or just and all round scumbag. Dear oh dear.
Obviously you’re not a very masculine one.
I think you’ve misunderstood what equality actually means.
Equality does not mean every male dominated work place should have 50% men and 50% women. It means men and women are free to follow any career path they themselves choose. If it turns out some prefessions contain 90% men and 10% women, then that’s the natural outcome of individual choice.
Marxist? I am a conservative. You are quite clearly son whacked out that a discussion with you isn’t remotely possible. I mean wow…WOW.
In many cases women have a lot more power then a man. I can’t stand woman rights activist crap. I’m a woman with a lot of woman friends and we just laugh at how stupid and irrelevant the issue is. Do you have any idea how much easier it is for a woman to get a job then a man ?
You’re not a woman.
Pathetic.
Not in my profession it isn’t.
I think they will mention it for as long as women remain unequal in society.
“you’re a guy, so you’ll just never understand.”
An abhorrent remark.
I love Sarah’s voice as the Sister, it was really creepy and eerie but I cant wait to see more of her going forward. Also the episode made me feel bad for Zeb as I noticed that he really has been a little left out of the whole Jedi stuff.
I loved seeing Kanan and Hera basically holding each other at the end of the episode too, I love how their relationship is handled, it’s very subtle but you get the idea.
i didn’t really get the sad holding each other scene…that whole last scene fell flat to me. “Hey, we’re back…we fought two inquisitors, no big deal…well…see ya later.” And then sad face Kanan…It was just weird to me.
Haha I didn’t see it that way, they seemed to very scared and worried about the fact that their are two inquisitors
It’s crap so many eye rolling moments. I actually want that cocky little bastard Ezra to die or at least be taught a serious lesson he is so annoying. Kanan isn’t much better. The Seveth Sister was lame why not try to seduce Ezra with promises of info about his parents or something, just lame filler. These characters are so boring they have to bring back Clone Wars characters to make the show interesting.
Yes, embrace your hate! It makes you stronger…
Huh. Oh. Completely forgot about this show. Thanks for the reminder.
third in a row that was kind of boring to me. They keep setting up new characters but use a whole episode to do it and really take their time to do it. I do like the 7th and 5th character, she nails that voice, but episode wise it yet another episode that really doesn’t go any where in the bigger picture (or so it seems) and that sucks. I don’t get how they go from those last few really really good episodes of the first season (and including the first season 2 episode) to these last three that are soooooo slow and boring. While it is cool they show older charachters and such, it is really getting frustrating the bigger story is being left out
Looks like they expect to be on the air for a long time and are laying groundwork.
Seems like it yes, but the stories around it could be so much better I think. It was nice to see ATAT’s and such, but storywise its not really going anywhere yet. Not anywhere exciting anyways (really had high hopes for this episode, since last two were so lacking)
Well – I liked the episode. I guess, they have to introduce us to the characters, and that means no harm.
Okay – can anyone please tell me your thoughts about, whom from The Clone Wars the Grand Inquisitor may be (have been)?
I am equally curious about him…
What makes you think he is from The Clone Wars? Or have I missed something (I haven’t watched the Recon video yet if it’s in that)?
Yeah, in the end, tager talk about it. 🙂
I think we should search between the childs of the force episodes with cad bane, but I don’t recall pau’an children there… Maybe Dave meant that they used the same template they used for a character in the utapau arc, another place where we might’ve seen him, or maybe he was a youngling somewhere in the temple we haven’t seen… That sentence confused me a lot
Buffy + Star Wars = Cobra Comander
It could just be the persuasive power of a woman, but did any one else notice that the brother seems to be subservient to the sister? She gave an order and he followed it. I liked the episode. Not everything has to be earth-shattering to be entertaining.
I suspect we are about to go down the usual politically correct route of cliché brainy powerful woman and dumb male beefy sidekick.
Rebels. Always amazes me how people put up with the worst thing to EVER happen to Star Wars. Disneyfied crap. Love the comics, some of the books, buying merch for The force awakens. But this show is crap, unless your like a 5 year old.
You’re*. You’re expressing your opinion on a show. You’re also being slightly judgmental. If you do not like a show, you do not have to watch it.
The show has it quirks that annoy me, sure, but there are still some great moments, but that is just my opinion, not yours. Also I can’t remember the last time 2 people were decapitated on a kids show.
I can. Its called The Clone Wars. A much better show, even though it too had some problems.
Haters. Always amazes me how people take time out of their day to read article’s about something “they are not even interested in”, and then take more of their time to comment on the article that “they were not even interested in”, and just post something simply to be an assclown. I am also willing to bet that Debbie Downer here probably has not missed an episode. AND QUESS WHAT, Rebels IS a show that targets EVERYONE, and that include’s 5 year olds, Of course they are going to have episode’s like this from time to time throughout the season……..calling a cartoon crap and then sayin you like star wars comics in the same sentence made me chuckle.
Here’s the problem. They say its canon like TESB or something. We need an Anime or some kind of Quality cartoon product. Hell, Droids is a better show. I don’t bash the prequels or TCWs . And I have a God given right to my opinion. And I’m hardly the only one with this opinion. Like I said, I’m not 5 years old. Go watch your Aladdan, er, um, Rebels, I mean.
You’re saying you’re just stating your opinion, but are telling other people they must be five years old for having their own opinions. To hell with you, you’re pathetic.
Dude go outside and get some vitamin D. I mean seriously…. GO OUTSIDE.
I’m not sure what your expectations are, not sure why you have the parental issues, not sure why someone sandbagged your Pokemon collection, not sure why you even bother doing anything with yourself except precisely this. Your comments are so unconstructed and filled with so much anger, that all joking aside, I genuinely feel sorry for you.
This is a show on the Disney network. This is a fun 22 minute romp set in the SW universe. This is light, fluffy, fun and full of all kinds of cool Easter eggs and characters. This will not save whichever trilogy you despise, this will not save the outdated EU, this will not save seals and/or mankind, and this certainly won’t save you.
Check your expectations and your head at the door. This show is great and fun to watch and nothing more.
–the management
Show sucks. So do you. Lol.
You must really love Aladdan. The Holiday special is excellent too.
Just watched the episode. I liked the introduction of the new inquisitors, but I hated how non-threatening they were. The female one held Ezra captive with a lightsaber shoved in his face, but he still gave her attitude.
Yawn. -_-
Still, it has potential.
I’m quite pleased with how Rebels is progressing as a show, and how well its creators understand Star Wars. It’s obviously in good hands.
Anxiously waiting to see how the end of the next season butts up against he Rogue One movie, as teased by the showrunner, Dave Filoni.
I’m exited for Season 3 already, just because that’s when The Clone Wars finally started getting good and improving its animation. Assuming that Rebels follows a similar pah, Season 3 should be the season that everyone finally likes.
True, but in fairness Rebel started much stronger out of the gate than Clone Wars ever did…of course that first episode is debatable I guess.
I foresee some dark stuff coming soon. Should be exciting!
Three was kind of a mixed bag to me with all of it’s lapses in continuity and jumping around the timeline, A lot of George-isms in it too. I enjoyed 4, 5, and 6/7 (if you count the bonus features) far more.
It wasn’t that good.
This episode felt more like Disney had influence than any other
Terrible. I have liked this season so far, but this episode stank. No real character development and a story that doesn’t really advance anything in terms of overall plot arc. The new inquisitors aren’t sufficiently more interesting or different than their predecessor so all round a bit of a let down for me. I found my attention wandering during the second half.
That’s another reason why I hate the Inquisitors. If the Grand One was the top dog then these ones will be total pushovers, Doesn’t say much for their little dark sider cult. Also I think Filoni is implying that the Pau we saw in that Utapau episode of Clone Wars was really the Inquisitor.
Wow, i am in the minority in that i loved this episode and the new inquisitors. Loved the creepy feel of the old station, too.
I am bringing my two ‘younglings’ into the star wars universe via rebels and they just totally enjoy it. They are both too young for the movies but this is more their level. My son has watched vadar vs kanan/ezra over 20 times on youtube.
