Correction, true feminists do. Unfortunately feminist movements have managed to acquire an unhealthy number of misandrists in their midst, and this is what is causing people to think that feminists are sexist.

Are you trying to convince me that the peaceful and rational feminists are in majority, and that it’s only a coincidence we see these vulgar, radicalist, red lipped screaming sea bears daily in the media?

I’d imagine “real feminists” wouldn’t even call themselves feminists anymore, but rather Egalitarians, so as to distance themselves from the modern hate group.

          • November 1, 2015 at 2:48 am
            Permalink

Um… How is that a correction in any way? Second, an “unhealthy number” is completely vague and not really helpful when it comes to defining a problem. My guess is most people that think feminists are sexist are misinformed bigoted fools, like the original poster, who harbor ill will towards the rights of women regardless of how feminists present themselves. In short although you’ve presented your position effectively, I don’t agree with the narrative that your proposing.

The problem is this. We don’t call male characters “strong male characters” despite the fact that there are plenty of weak ones present around them. They’re just characters who happen to kick ass. And that’s all there is to it. But whenever a woman happens to kick ass, feminists call them “strong female character”. As if the opposite is always expected.

        • October 29, 2015 at 6:37 pm
          Permalink

“If they want more female characters they shouldn’t speak of it. They should just do it instead of making a big deal out of it. That if anything is sexist.”

Waa?? I don’t think the person coming from the group that’s usually always represented in an array of different characters and personalities should be telling the group that usually isn’t how they should think or feel or go about doing things. So women shouldn’t complain or speak out about how they’re portrayed in media? Not all women are in a position of power to write these characters, so the only thing they can do is speak out and give their opinion to change how people present them.

          • October 29, 2015 at 7:37 pm
            Permalink

Are you saying women are coming from a different place than me? I’m sorry. When last I checked western men and women grew up together in the same households and were free to enjoy the same opportunities. This is the western world after all. I don’t care one bit about what you “feel” is happening if you come to a logically faulty conclusion. I only care about what is actually happening, and what is not.

Again. Having females that kick ass on television is nothing uncommon. As a matter of fact it’s been quite common for the last 20 years. And this happened completely without feminists pointing their fingers.

Acting like females presence in action stories is something revolutionary and new, while pretending men have kept them out, is a LIE and damn near incitement.

Yes, that’s why politics, entertainment, the media, the film industry, the legal profession, the medical profession and the military, to name but a few sectors of society, are all heavily male dominated.

Women may well have the same legal rights in the West, but you’re living in a fantasy world if you think they have equal standing.

Oh. I wasn’t aware that women are being systematically excluded from these areas? Well if that is the case, since gender discrimination is heavily regarded as a crime, it is obviously a matter for the EEOC. There you go. Problem solved.

I don’t see why the areas you mention should be filled with women if women generally are not as interested in them as men obviously are. You can’t force women to apply for educations they themselves do not want.
Women are not forbidden from these areas. There are simply fewer of them. Why? Because men and women have different interests by nature.

Obviously you’re not a very masculine one.
I think you’ve misunderstood what equality actually means.
Equality does not mean every male dominated work place should have 50% men and 50% women. It means men and women are free to follow any career path they themselves choose. If it turns out some prefessions contain 90% men and 10% women, then that’s the natural outcome of individual choice.

I love Sarah’s voice as the Sister, it was really creepy and eerie but I cant wait to see more of her going forward. Also the episode made me feel bad for Zeb as I noticed that he really has been a little left out of the whole Jedi stuff.

I loved seeing Kanan and Hera basically holding each other at the end of the episode too, I love how their relationship is handled, it’s very subtle but you get the idea.

It’s crap so many eye rolling moments. I actually want that cocky little bastard Ezra to die or at least be taught a serious lesson he is so annoying. Kanan isn’t much better. The Seveth Sister was lame why not try to seduce Ezra with promises of info about his parents or something, just lame filler. These characters are so boring they have to bring back Clone Wars characters to make the show interesting.

third in a row that was kind of boring to me. They keep setting up new characters but use a whole episode to do it and really take their time to do it. I do like the 7th and 5th character, she nails that voice, but episode wise it yet another episode that really doesn’t go any where in the bigger picture (or so it seems) and that sucks. I don’t get how they go from those last few really really good episodes of the first season (and including the first season 2 episode) to these last three that are soooooo slow and boring. While it is cool they show older charachters and such, it is really getting frustrating the bigger story is being left out

I am also willing to bet that Debbie Downer here probably has not missed an episode. AND QUESS WHAT, Rebels IS a show that targets EVERYONE, and that include’s 5 year olds, Of course they are going to have episode’s like this from time to time throughout the season……..calling a cartoon crap and then sayin you like star wars comics in the same sentence made me chuckle.

Your comments are so unconstructed and filled with so much anger, that all joking aside, I genuinely feel sorry for you.

This is a show on the Disney network. This is a fun 22 minute romp set in the SW universe. This is light, fluffy, fun and full of all kinds of cool Easter eggs and characters. This will not save whichever trilogy you despise, this will not save the outdated EU, this will not save seals and/or mankind, and this certainly won’t save you.

That’s another reason why I hate the Inquisitors. If the Grand One was the top dog then these ones will be total pushovers, Doesn’t say much for their little dark sider cult. Also I think Filoni is implying that the Pau we saw in that Utapau episode of Clone Wars was really the Inquisitor.
