New The Last Jedi TV Spot: Powerful Light, Powerful Darkness
Another Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV spot comes and goes in 15 seconds, featuring a new quote from Luke, a new close-up of Rey, a shot of the First Order deploying their TIEs (shown above), and a little bit more of the highly anticipated Finn/Phasma duel.
Really not too much else to say here other than to point out that we’re two weeks away (give or take a few days, depending on where you live in the world) from seeing the movie. It’s so exciting!
Grant has been a fan of Star Wars for as long as he can remember, having seen every movie on the big screen. When he’s not hard at work with his college studies, he keeps himself busy by reporting on all kinds of Star Wars news for SWNN and general movie news on the sister site, Movie News Net. He served as a frequent commentator on SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast.
Yes!!
“Highly anticipated duel”
Honestly, “Action” is what least interests me in film now. It’s all been done and done and done. The best parts of any film I’ve seen recently (whether comic book or something like Florida project) are the small character moments. Honest dialogue. Heart. Soul. Human stuff. Films need to get smaller not bigger. Obviously Star Wars needs to have “action” but it’s only compelling if we care. That’s why I’m kind of done with comic book movies. I just don’t care. Finn and phasma? I don’t care. I really don’t. They didn’t set up anything particularly compelling about their relationship in TFA. He’s good. She’s bad. That’s about it. (Shouldn’t Finn have been fighting her by mazs castle instead of some generic trooper?). Their whole subplot feels utterly unnecessary. It’s like they tacked it on because she looks cool. Hopefully Rian has made more of a mountain out of their molehill. Otherwise, Highly anticipated? Not by me.
agreed: best moments in force awakens : Han en Leia reunion, Kylo and Han confrontation, Snoke speaking to Kylo, Rey dreaming of a better life in her AT AT home , Maz telling Rey about that lightsaber, Luke’s stare at that saber , Kylo speaking to grandfather. NOT : poe blowing up stuff…. same with Rogue
one, absolute highlight for me was when Saw shows Jin the message from her father.
Except for Vader blowing stuff up. That, you must admit, was kinda cool.
Agree 100%
This was too cheesy
Im amazed the entire film has not been shown via tv spots this time around..
Hate these clips. Keep it it a secret, Disney clowns!!!
Agreed, did they do this with TFA?
Star Wars needs No advertising, well not this much.
Just so we’re clear, right now there’s LESS footage for TLJ that’s been released compared to the same point for TFA. Approximately 5 minutes VS approximately 8 minutes. And both are well below the average amount of footage that’s released for the typical blockbuster at this point in time.

Hopefully the lack of footage is a good thing. One may assume that the movie is filled with “spoilery” things too good to put in a trailer.
It seems like more, but thankfully no spoilers.
Interesting that you go to a site whose entire purpose is to reveal as much information about the Star Wars franchise as is humanly possible, and then complain in the comments forum about how much information is being released by Disney…
😉
One side of me is very intrigued by the words: “Powerful light. Powerful darkness.” But another part of me senses that there is a chance the dialogue may not even make it to the finished film.
Powerful balance
