‘Tales of the Empire’ TV Spot Showcases Darth Vader and the Inquisitors

A new spot for Star Wars: Tales of the Empire emphasizes Darth Vader and the Inquisitors, alongside other characters like General Grievous and Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Five days out from the premiere of Tales of the Empire, a new TV spot has dropped from the official Star Wars YouTube channel, showcasing new footage from six new shorts starring Barriss Offee and Morgan Elsbeth during the formative years of the Galactic Empire and beyond. The shorts connect fill in the gaps of narratives for characters from shows like The Clone WarsObi-Wan KenobiRebelsThe MandalorianAhsoka, and potentially more.

For the Barriss-focused shorts, the new ad features new footage of the Fourth Sister leading an investigation into a Jedi hiding amongst a crowd, several inquisitors walking into frame, Barriss in a sparring session with the Grand Inquisitor, and Darth Vader taking a seat at the Fortress Inquisitorius. For the Morgan-focused shorts, the ad features new footage of her survival of a massacre led by General Grievous on Dathomir, explaining her reasons to serve the Empire to Grand Admiral Thrawn, and a quick shot of a ship taking a jump into hyperspace.

Check out the 30-second spot below:

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is a spiritual successor to the anthology series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (which has been renewed for a second season), covering previously-untold stories about the early era of the Galactic Empire, with narratives specifically focused on the fallen Jedi Padawan Barriss Offee and the surviving Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth and how their paths intersect with figures like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Vader during the start of the “dark times”. All six episodes of the season will be released on Disney Plus on May 4, 2024. It is not known if Tales of the Empire will receive additional seasons, or if any additional “Tales of” anthology series are planned – though there have been rumors about an additional series possibly focused on bounty hunters.
