Oscar Isaac and the Rest of the World Pay Tribute to Carrie Fisher
The tributes, anecdotes, and condolences continue to pour in as the days pass since Carrie Fisher’s passing. Celebrities, old friends, and even some of her new costars praise her wisdom and wit. Amidst the tragedy, there’s a bit of comfort to be found in the manner of these tributes. As opposed to pure sadness, people make jokes, praise her temperament, and applaud her endless creativity.
It also seems nice that Carrie’s last role on screen will be the one that defined her career. Carrie has been open through good and bad about her relationship with Princess Leia. It thrust her to stardom and it will be the last line on her acting resume. I like to think Carrie would have found that appropriate.
To that end, Oscar Isaac’s tribute to Carrie, through an image he shared on his Facebook page, seems especially meaningful to Star Wars fans. Carrie and Mark. Leia and Luke. Together again, in costume, on the set of her last film. We won’t know until next December whether Luke and Leia will share one last scene together. But with this picture, one can take more solace in the fact that Carrie and Mark did get one last reunion.
In the last few days thousands of fans payed tribute to Carrie by raising a lightsaber in her memory. There are many videos on Youtube showing fans on the streets honoring the actress. Here’s just one example (via RollingStone):
IMDb compiled a fantastic gallery with more than 60 photos of Carrie Fisher throughout here career. You can check them out HERE.
Also the site BrainyQuote made a compilation with some really memorable quotes by Carrie. Make sure the check them out HERE. Here’s just a small glimpse at some of them:
And here are a few videos with Carrie, showing why she was such a great and witty person. These are her speeches presenting the Life Achievement Awards to Harrison Ford, George Lucas and the SAG Award to her mother Debbie Reynolds:
And in case you missed it, here’s the deleted scene with General Leia from The Force Awakens that greatly mixes the character Leia with the person Carrie:
And we really wanted to finish this article with this touching photo:

We will never forget you.
Mark and Carrie in their Episode 8 costumes?
They are wearing those black robes that cover their costumes from prying eyes and drones.
Carrie’s is textured more like a dress than a robe and doesn’t appear to have a hood. She is wearing a ring like she wore in EP7
I read the report when this picture first came out. It said they were both wearing the black robes to conceal their costumes.
This picture was released in the last day by Oscar Isaac on his fb. It never was released before that.
I know. When I saw it yesterday somewhere else it said they were wearing the black robes.
Mark likely is, Carrie not
It’s also a well-known fact that people can’t go outside in-costume without those robes. I don’t doubt the rings are part of the costume.
Carrie’s costume clearly has texture, details that a simple black robe wouldn’t have. Despite your report, she is clearly wearing her costume without the robes.
If you insist.
Good, because I do insist 😉
Well, if I insisted as well, you and everyone else would go all “super-fan” and argue until the sun went down. I don’t have time for that, so I’ll just let you believe what you want.
thx
No her robe has details on it

coincidence?
I think not!! #LeiaIsKyloRen
its probably because she bought her outfit and kylo’s at the same place. 😉
Bea Arthur’s cantina!
Water in her ear?
PLEASE get rid of that Moroff monstrosity and put our girl up on your home page banner.
Moroff is awesome, He looks like something out of The Dark Crystal. Get rid of the Shoretrooper who’s too colorful looking for the Empire anyway and was just fancy cannon fodder like the Deathtroopers.
I think they’ll have her prominently when the VIII pics start coming in over the next year or so though.
Sad that the first reaction in the talkback is a discussion on costumes.
don’t be that guy.
The GOAT far as Star Wars leading ladies goes due to the fact that she had the most personality on camera and off.
Oh, god, I don’t think I ever saw the speech she gave at Lucas’s AFI dinner. Oh, Carrie, why did you have to leave – pop culture needs you more than ever.
Looks like they’re wearing something from Han’s funeral.
Seeing Carrie in funeral garb will be too much for me to take.

Love this pic, defiance and vulnerability eclipsed with beauty.
RIP
I suffer from mental illness and she exposed this to the world to normalize it. Its too easy to dismiss as crazy or weird. She was a cool lady and used her life to help others learn from her mistakes and suffering. She laid it all out there for us to see. She is a hero. She is an icon. Up there in ranks of Marlyn Monroe. She now passes into legend.
Props to a brilliant lady who ‘lived by the book’… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYMjF484LlY
