Grand Admiral Thrawn Returns in 1:6 Scale with New Hot Toys Figure
“Long live the Empire.” Grand Admiral Thrawn has made his return to the galaxy and will now be making his way to collector’s shelves as Hot Toys have announced the infamous Imperial leader as the next figure in their Ahsoka line.
Whilst Ahsoka featured the character’s live action debut, this new collectible is actually Thrawn’s second 1:6 scale figure. Back in 2009 Thrawn was one of the very few expanded universe characters to receive a figure in Sideshow’s original Star Wars line, a testament to the overwhelming popularity of the character. As great as that figure was at the time, and as an EU fan it was amazing to see a character from outside of the movies represented in the line, Hot Toys new version is an incredible upgrade and, of course, features the likeness of Lars Mikkelsen from Ahsoka.
Revealing the figure on Facebook, Hot Toys wrote:

Today, Hot Toys excited to officially introduce the greatly anticipated 1/6th scale Grand Admiral Thrawn™ collectible figure!
The highly-accurate collectible figure features a brand new head sculpt with stunning likeness and separately rolling eyeballs to adjust eyesight, specially tailored Imperial uniform with fine details, a blaster, a datapad, a hologram, and a display base!

The head sculpts on the Ahsoka line continue to be some of the best Hot Toys have done on and they have perfectly captured Mikkelsen’s likeness in this sculpt. The detailing on the costume is also impressive, managing to capture some of the subtle damage and repair work that Thrawn’s uniform featured on the show.
Thrawn is one of those characters that doesn’t really lend himself to a lot of accessories, so I really like that Hot Toys have included the holographic display of the Chimaera here. It’s a cool touch that will add something unique when displayed with him.
Grand Admiral Thrawn will be up for pre-order later today at Sideshow Collectibles and other retailers, and is due for release Q4 2024/Q1 2025.
