‘Ahsoka’ New Spot With Part Five Footage Revealed as We Head Into the Final Stretch

If you’ve been somewhat keeping up with Lucasfilm’s marketing strategy for Ahsoka, you might have noticed that just a few hours after each episode airs on Tuesday night they tend to release a new character poster featuring someone who was introduced in the latest installment. So far, there’s no new character poster for this week (even if there are a couple of very good candidates in the episode), but the studio has revealed a new 45-second spot featuring some footage from the episode (though still leaving the true highlights out of it to leave viewers thirsty for more).

Seen below, the new spot features moments from the duel between Ahsoka and Vader from the beginning of the episode, as well as some of the highlights from previous episodes in the season:

Major spoilers ahead for Ahsoka Part Five

The hype around the episode on social media was through the roof, with multiple Lucasfilm personalities, including series composer Kevin Kiner, teasing fans they had something really special in store. It was also screened in select theaters around the world ahead of its premiere on Disney Plus, which helped with the feeling of making it an event. But most people watched it at home, and the reactions that have been pouring in since then have been overwhelmingly positive.

Following the tease at the very end of the previous episode, we knew that Hayden Christensen would play a major role, and with the World Between Worlds now introduced in live-action (whether or not this is the same realm Ezra visited in Star Wars: Rebels remains up in the air, as the rules seem to have changed — though that may also be intentional, as it’s still quite mysterious), the possibilities were endless. And it seems like it paid off, with Filoni finally getting the chance to put Christensen in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor and interact with a live-action young Ahsoka (played by Barbie‘s Ariana Greenblatt, who was so excited about it she danced around the SAG-AFTRA strike on social media).

Halfway through the episode, Ahsoka is reborn into Ahsoka The White (not an official name, yet), but the most important feature is this: she is now back to being the awestruck, excited character we saw in The Clone Wars (we saw a glimpse of that in Part Three, but now it feels like a definitive transformation, physical and mental). She has recovered her faith and found a reason to fight another day. And she is on her way to finding Thrawn and potentially Ezra as well.

We have three more episodes to go and a lot of ground to cover. Do you have any theories for what’s to come? Outside of a couple of shots of Grand Admiral Thrawn, we are going into the final episodes completely blind. What do you think we’ll see in the new galaxy? How much did you enjoy Part Five? Let us know in the comments below!

You can check out Rosalie’s review of the new episode here, and stay tuned for SWNN Live! on Thursday night where we’ll be breaking down all that happened in it!
