‘Ahsoka’: Theatrical Screening of Part Five in Select US and London Venues Announced

Have you recovered from watching those last few moments of the fourth episode of Ahsoka? Not yet? Well, you should sit down for this one. Disney has announced that they will be showing the next episode of Ahsoka in 10 theaters in the US next Tuesday, an hour before it drops on Disney Plus. Empire Magazine will also be hosting a similar screening in London, in a location yet to be determined — this one, they will be doing four hours before the episode comes out on the platform, at 10pm BST.

(WARNING: Spoilers below for Part Four.)

Had the British screening been the only one, we could have guessed that they would be dropping the episode right after the screening was done to prevent massive spoilers from leaking to social media a few hours before Part Five comes out. But since the North American screenings will be happening later, that kind of invalidates the theory. (We’ll still be holding out some hope, just in case, though.)

Ever since they announced Dave Filoni would be coming back to direct Part Five, the writing has been on the wall for this next episode being pretty massive, and Disney committing to fan events to celebrate such an anticipated moment underlines that thought. In fact, anticipated moments, because not only we will be seeing the first time Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka speaks to Hayden Christensen’s Anakin/Vader, we assume Part Five will also be when we meet Lars Mikkelsen as live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn, and possibly, after five years, finally find Ezra. And if that wasn’t enough, we will be seeing a new galaxy for the first time in Star Wars. None of this feels like TV material — this was made for the big screen.

You can find Jay’s spoiler discussion on Part Four here, and make sure to tune into SWNN Live! on Thursday night for a discussion on the latest episode of Ahsoka. We will be back next week with our spoiler discussion of Part Five as well.
