Updated: Katee Sackhoff Visited the ‘Ahsoka’ Set, but Will Not Confirm if She Is in It or if There Will Be a Bo-Katan Spin-Off

Katee Sackhoff attended Fan EXPO Philadelphia 2023 over the weekend, and dropped some behind-the-scenes intel on Bo-Katan. While there is no video footage of what she said, we have gathered a few reactions posted on social media by people who claim to have been at the event. We can’t really verify their authenticity, so take this with a grain of salt, particularly a specific tweet we will indicate later.

According to people who claim to have attended the event, Sackhoff said she was on the set of Ahsoka, but wouldn’t confirm whether or not she will be reprising her role as Bo-Katan in the upcoming show. There’s obviously been speculation about Din and/or Bo-Katan appearing in the series given the interconnectivity that runs through these series, but there’s been little proof of that. (Brendan Wayne was also on the set.) However, we must remember that Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew shot simultaneously on the same lot, so it’s possible that at least one of these two characters will appear in the latter, and while they were there, the actors just popped by to say hi to the Ahsoka crew.

Earlier this year there were also rumors about a new show being developed in the New Republic Era, codenamed “Ghost Track 17”, of which we know nothing yet. Several theories were pitched, one of them being that it would be a Bo-Katan-centric show. When asked if we could be getting a Bo-Katan spin-off or even a movie at some point, Katee Sackhoff apparently denied to respond:

As far as season 3 of The Mandalorian goes, Sackhoff apparently said that her Bo-Katan costume was a one-piece with a zipper and a she-wee for when she had to go to the bathroom:

And here is where we get into the very suspicious territory. The following claim comes from a different Twitter account than the previous tweets, and we can’t really verify if what they are saying is true. And for what it’s worth, it doesn’t sound very believable. (If someone who was at the expo wants to reach out and confirm whether or not it was said, feel free!) This account is also someone who wasn’t at the panel (as evidenced by one of the replies), but was on a Discord server with someone that claimed to be. (See below for an update on this.)

According to this individual, there was a deleted scene at the very end of The Mandalorian season 3 finale where Din and Bo-Katan kissed:

To cast even more doubt into this, industry reporter Jeff Sneider said a few weeks ago on The Hot Mic podcast that Pedro Pascal was on set for a couple of episodes of season 3, but couldn’t make it for the finale, where he was supposed to have a helmet-less cameo, because of a scheduling issue with The Last of Us. Whether Sackhoff’s aforementioned (and questionable) outtake was simply a scene in the script that they never filmed because Pedro Pascal couldn’t be there, something they did film but eventually removed, or even something that was never real, we don’t know.

It’s unclear where we will see Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan next. If she is not in either Ahsoka or Skeleton Crew, then we assume it will be The Mandalorian season 4, which was targeting an October production start date before the strike. Now, all of that is in question.

As a final note from the fan convention, Hayden Christensen also attended the event, and when asked about which “What If…?” he would like to see Star Wars explore, he replied he would love to see “What If Anakin Never Turned?”, and Anakin and Padmé raised Luke and Leia together with uncle Obi-Wan coming to visit.

UPDATE: A video from the event has surfaced since the posting of the article and it shows Sackhoff on stage describing the aforementioned kiss outtake. It turned out to be something the actress did say, though from the tone she used it could also be interpreted as a moment that was improvised by Brendan Wayne while cameras were on and that was ultimately cut. However, we will let you be the judge of that; check out the video here:
