New ‘Tales of the Jedi’ Spot Teases Tomorrow’s Six Short Adventures; Bryce Dallas Howard Confirms Voice Role

Star Wars animation is coming back on Wednesday with the release of all six animated shorts from the new anthology series Tales of the Jedi. In preparation, Lucasfilm has released a brand-new 30-second spot featuring bits from Ahsoka’s training and Mace Windu telling Dooku to “stand down”. Check it out here:

Additionally, Bryce Dallas Howard, known to Star Wars fans as the director behind two episodes of The Mandalorian and one episode of The Book of Boba Fett, as well as the daughter of Solo director Ron Howard, revealed on social media that she’s voicing Yaddle:

Yaddle is of course the only other member of Yoda’s species besides the Master himself that we had seen before Grogu came into our lives. George Lucas famously regretted her creation, and the character never appeared in any film or animated series after The Phantom Menace. It’s certainly an interesting choice by Dave Filoni to include the character here, given his reverence for his old boss.

Tales of the Jedi comprises six shorts that range from 10 to 17 minutes. They focus on two storylines: Ahsoka’s first steps as a Padawan in the Jedi Order and the rise and downfall of Dooku as a Jedi Master. In his early days, he will be seen training a young Qui-Gon Jinn, voiced by Liam Neeson’s son, Micheál Richardson, and later he will face off against a more seasoned Qui-Gon, voiced by Neeson himself. The voice cast also includes Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, and James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan — the latter two came back for The Clone Wars season 7 as well. Janina Gavankar provided the voice of Ahsoka’s mother, and Star Wars veteran Clancy Brown voiced the Sixth Brother, the Inquisitor we saw in the trailer and to whom we were first introduced in the Ahsoka novel. And last but not least, Ian McDiarmid will be the voice of Darth Sidious once again.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi arrives on October 26 exclusively on Disney Plus. Our own John Hoey got an early look at the series and praised it on social media, particularly the fourth episode. Stay tuned for our full review tomorrow!
