Rumor: ‘Ahsoka’ Series Reportedly Casts Matthew Law in a Big Role

Ahsoka has started filming and a new rumor has surfaced that Matthew Law will be playing an unspecified big role in the limited event series.

A known movie scooper DanielRPK reportedly revealed the information about Law’s Ahsoka casting on his Patreon, but the information was relayed through Twitter via Adam Frazier. Check out the tweet below:

One of Law’s most well-known roles was his involvement in four episodes of the Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a show where several alumni have subsequently appeared in recent Star Wars projects, with Ming-Na Wen being the biggest name from the series making the jump to the galaxy far, far away. Otherwise, Law has kept out of the spotlight where franchises are concerned, making this a big step up for him. It is not clear if Law is playing a new or established character.

The cast of Ahsoka has several major actors officially cast so far, including Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ivanna Sakhno in unidentified roles, and Ray Stevenson as an Imperial Admiral who is speculated by fans to be Gilad Pellaeon, Thrawn’s understudy and ally. It is expected, though not confirmed that the likes of Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn will have prominent roles in the series as well — given that Ahsoka is expected to follow up on the epilogue of Star Wars Rebels.

The epilogue of that series is set years after the events of the main story, and presumably after Ahsoka’s guest appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The ending left her, and Sabine Wren, one of the show’s central characters, preparing to head off to search for Thrawn, who was last seen having his ship hijacked into parts unknown by series protagonist Ezra. Ezra saved Ahsoka from certain death, and she made a promise that she would find him one day.

Ahsoka is expected to arrive on Disney Plus at some point in 2023. Filming on the series has already begun.
