Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins the Cast of ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’

Star Wars: Ahsoka is one of the upcoming projects set to begin filming for Disney/Lucasfilm, and now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is the latest addition to its star-studded cast. Winstead is joining series lead Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen, who is returning as Anakin Skywalker. Other announced cast members include Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Ivanna Sakhno as an undisclosed and reportedly new character. THR says that details surrounding Winstead’s character are being kept under wraps too.

Winstead has been acting professionally since she was 13, and has played a wide variety of characters over the last 25 years. Among her credits are 10 Cloverfield Lane, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Birds of Prey. She is certainly no stranger to popular franchises either, having played John McClane’s daughter Lucy in Live Free or Die Hard. On the TV side of things, she garnered awards buzz for her turn in the hit show Fargo. This will not be the first time Winstead worked with Rosario Dawson either, as the two starred in the 2007 Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse feature Death Proof.

Star Wars: Ahsoka is an upcoming Disney Plus series following the return of the character in The Mandalorian season 2. The show is being written by Dave Filoni, with Jon Favreau serving as an executive producer alongside Filoni. Production is set to begin this spring.
