Yeah, that’s how the companies contracted to do the marketing tend to do things. They’ll often use various takes, even ones that don’t necessarily make the final cut of the film.

I’m willing to bet the final edit hasn’t yet been signed off and put into the can.

And you’d be right. I think the final cut for SWTFA was a few weeks before the movie came out. A visual effects guy for RO said that he thinks his services on the movie are done, though, suggesting that a final cut is on the horizon.

I am hoping that both “I REBEL” lines are in the movie because it’s her catchphrase. Those were just 2 of 7 instances. A Bantha can dream, can’t he? SAVE THE DREAM!!!

Dreaming Banthas are dangerous Banthas. They rebel.

How do you know it’s not an alternate take from principle photography?

Exactly. A lot of people seem to forget that multiple takes are always recorded during principal photography, for the sole purpose of *avoiding* too many pickups later on. Remeber Lucas’ “faster, more intense”?

Nothing in a trailer is final until the movie is out. People never learn.

Normally I’d agree with this sentiment, but something appears a little different about Felicity in that newly released take (beyond the fact that it’s not mirrored like the other). Her face seems a little…thinner? I dunno. Something appears different.

Love the detail being put in. Seeing the AT-AT walkers being all “grunged” up looking like they have been down on this world for a long time.

I really think I’m going to like this more than TFA… and I liked TFA.
Crazy… already on our second movie.

Do we know if any of the music in these trailers and commercials is written by the new composer? I’m anxious to hear the tone of the orchestration.

I sure hope not. Sounds like the same terrible generic music from every other action movie made today.

…Other than the fact that it’s all based off of original John Williams Star Wars music. So yeah.

Waaaay off. Sounds nothing like Williams’ orchestrations and style and that’s a bad thing. Hopefully Giacchino comes up with something infinitely better.

The feels in that 2nd spot! Maybe because I’m in the middle of Catalyst right now but the relationship between Jyn and Galen could be really interesting. The look on Felicity’s face when Cassian says “he’s developing a weapon”.

Jyn was born during The Clone Wars. R1 is said to happen just before ANH which is 19 years after Clone Wars end. She said she had not seen her father in 15 years? Would make the last time she seen him 6 or 7 years old?

She was born before the Clone Wars…..motha says “on your own since 15” yet not seen her father for 15 years….makes her 30….that’s assuming she has been on the run since krennic arrived and took her father and killed her mother…or perhaps her mother lives and she was on the run with her for a couple of years, that could make her a couple of years younger…the trailers seen suggest otherwise though.

Read Catalyst, its a fantastic book and gives you some great insight into the Erso family and Galens relationship with Orsin Krennic.

I thought Saw may have helped raise her after he Father was taken away, but maybe Saw wasn’t around after she turned 15 for some reason.

Glad they re-did the “I Rebel” line, flows way more natural than the original. Also gives her a bit more of a sarcastic, edgier tone.

They also re-shot the “May the Force be with us” line, right? Jyn sounded as if she was saying that sarcastically in the first clip we saw of her saying it.

Honestly, I’m a bit bored of all the Tv spots. Not as exciting this time round.
Just please please please be even half as good as it looks! Then we’ll have a great film.

How many Tv spots etc did Ep VII have? Seems like a lot more this time, or is it just my imagination?
