Rumor: New Possible Filming Location in Ireland for Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Malin Head 02After the filming on Skellig Michael for The Force Awakens and Episode VIII, and the upcoming filming in County Kerry, Rian Johnson and company might be heading to yet another location in Ireland. This time more to the north…

From DerryJournal (via JediNews):

Speculation is mounting that the next instalment of the Star Wars saga is to be filmed in Malin Head.

The Derry Journal understands that film location scouts from Lucasfilm recently visited the area and are expected to return in May for filming.

They are expected to film in Malin Head in May for around a month. A number of B&Bs and vacant houses in Malin Head and the surrounding area have been completely booked out for a number of weeks in late April and throughout May. It is understood some initial works at Malin Head have already got underway in preparation for filming.

So it appears the next 2 months will be busy with several filming locations around the world – Dubrovnik, Iceland and two locations in Ireland. Also there are unconfirmed reports for a filming around Mexico City.
