I like his point about diversity, and he’s right, it’s not diversity for the sake of it, it’s just simply honesty. Reality includes lots of different people and films really SHOULD reflect that.
    Good interview

Sure, because in reality the good guys always consist of girls and non-white dudes only. If we include white dudes as part of the hero side, that’s not realistic apparantly. 🙂

I don’t understand why it’s OK to call it “realistic and honest” only when there’s no white dudes in it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think all-white casts are realistic either. I just don’t understand how you bash one side of it but praise it when it’s just the other way around. It feels very hypocritical.

I like both. I don’t know why you think I’m bashing white actors. I literally just said “not diversity for diversity’s sake”, but based on what works best. The entire point is that no one is excluded. Is that concept really that hard to grasp?

He’s very charismatic, and he was wonderful in Nightcrawler. It’ll be fun to see him in R1.

Thought the same when watching nightcrawler, that he was brilliant actor with lots of layers, and his character wasn’t easy at all. I’m very happy he will be in Rogue One.

Is Bodhi Rook a rumored name or has this been confirmed?

      It’s just a rumor. A GAME RUMOR.

    Hope the name isn’t real.

It fits classic Star Wars weirdness imo. It could be real or fake and I probably wouldn’t care. What’s so bad about it to you?

I prefer ones like Jabba, Yoda, or Vader which sound familiar but aren’t, This one sounds like a name generator one.

Maybe they sound familiar because they are. I’m not saying that Bodhi isn’t a bad name, I’m just saying that maybe it sounds unfamiliar, unlike the other names which are all at least 32 years old.

It sounds familiar to me since I’ve known several Bodhi’s in my life, I’ve known one Hans but never a Han, Lando, or the like. To be fair, Most if not all the PT ones had clunky sounding ones as well.

I couldn’t care less about being upset about a name like that. Read off all the names in the previous SW movies. I rest my case.

What is annoying is when people have to “talk” about diversity and all that crap… Just make an awesome movie, shut up, and nobody will really care. Can’t even remember what “race” the crews or heros were on 99% of action/sci-fi movies I love unless I start thinking about it or somebody starts “talking” about it. Does anybody remember or even care if the cast of Battlestar Galactica or Firefly were “diverse” ? They were just awesome shows full of great characters.

We have seen nothing of this film, amazing how they are keeping underwraps. I wonder what age rating it will get.

There have been a ton of leaked set photos, not exactly what I’d call nothing.

a few beach photos and some stormtroopers having lunch, gave nothing away.

Maybe it didn’t give away major plot points, but it isn’t nothing. Also, there are photos of a X-Wing and an outdoor set that looks somehow similar to the rebel base on Yavin. Not much, but definitly not nothing imho.

Compared to TFA it’s definitely very little though. This close to TFA we already had somewhat accurate plot outlines.

I really like this guy. Looking forward to this character. And the name Bodhi Rook, sounds great. “Bodhi” means “enlightenment/awakening” in Sanskrit. Pretty cool.
