Waze Launches New Star Wars Navigation App with C-3PO as your Co-Pilot.

WazeThat’s right, the folks at Waze have done it now, as they’ve put a familiar navigator at your side that runs on Android, and iOS operating platforms, and you can have our favorite golden protocol droid guide you to your destination. To top it off, we’re giving away two $30 Fandando gift cards just for trying it and telling us about it!

Starting today through December 31st, The Force comes to Waze with C-3PO voice-guided navigation & more! In the event you may have been on another planet and never heard of Waze, they’ve developed navigation apps for mobile devices that have over 50 million users and a social following of over 1.5 million people. Two lucky winners will also each receive a $30 gift card from Fandango for telling us what they liked about the app in the comments below.

They’ve launched a new Star Wars navigational app that will no doubt make you smile when the prim and proper golden droid politely guides you to your destinations while reminding you that you are in charge with the frequent use of the word “Master”…it’s a riot!

Get C-3PO as the best droid co-pilot in the galaxy as you munch on exclusive road goodies like Stormtroopers, TIE Fighters and Lightsabers along your route. Help C-3PO find the rare R2-D2 & BB-8 goodies to earn extra points!

BB-8

This author is a frequent road warrior that downloaded the app to give it a good shakedown, and it passed. One of the best things about the program is that it’s a “learning” program, meaning that if you deviate from the suggested course a few times by instead taking a faster route, it will correct it’s course and store the correction in it’s memory for future destination courses.

While I was amused by the pleasantries of C-3PO along my commute home from work, two of the lines uttered by our favorite golden droid that made me laugh were “Kindly Exit Right, Master”, but then when I pulled into my driveway, came to a stop, and C-3PO explained: “What A Desolate Place This Is!” in typical goldenrod fashion…I was speechless.

I personally can’t wait to spend some time with C-3PO on some of my jaunts around town and then again on some of my 100-500 mile trips. You can download the app HERE. For best results in enabling the built in add-on, follow the instructions below. Don’t forget to tell us about your Waze experience with C-3PO in the comments for a shot a Fandango gift card!

Well I just went and tried it out. The interface runs pretty smooth on my galaxy SIII which means it should work for almost any phone in the last 2-3 years. It’s pretty funny to hear good old c3po guiding you to your destination. It has a surprising number of phrases. I would say if you have to use gps anytime soon you should give it a try.

Been using Waze for almost a year, jus downloaded the Star Wars voice add-on last night. It so awesome, C3PO calls you MASTER! Been chomping Lightsabers and Stormtroopers, I feel like a real life PAC-MAN with the add-on. I highly recommend it to any Star Wars fan, or if your a fan in general of games like PAC-MAN you can’t be without this.

“…keep your distance, though. But don’t LOOK like you’re trying to keep your distance…” *rawr* “I don’t know, Chewie! Drive casual! 3P0’s giving the directions. Relax!”

waze is my go to GPS app. They always have good directions, and I like that they tell me where the red light cameras are. Every once in a while I drive with Uber and they have Waze built into their app for convenience. its awesome.

Not bad! However, after the first two to five miles, being addressed as “Master” after each direction given by Anthony Daniels does get to be a tad annoying…

I’m one of those people who was on another planet (named Under a Rock) and so I’ve never heard of Waze. Man, have I missed out! I love its design and it works really well on my iPhone 5C. Plus, having everyone’s favorite protocol droid giving you directions is a huge bonus!

I’ve been using Waze for awhile now and enjoy it. I find it’s real-time accuracy to be quite good. My only big complaint is that it doesn’t say the street names, so you have to look at your phone more often if it’s not quite clear where, for example, you’re supposed to “turn left.”
