That’s a Wrap for Star Wars: The Force Awakens! The Final Cut is Finished.
Yahoo! Movies has reported that J. J. Abrams has finished the final cut of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens – 28 days before the release of the movie, to boot. Abrams recently discussed this at a recent event (Celebrity Nerd-Off) with Stephen Colbert, which got thunderous applause from the audience (and Colbert himself).

We’re in the home stretch, ladies and gents – stay on target at Star Wars News Net for the latest and greatest news on The Force Awakens and more!
Grant has been a fan of Star Wars for as long as he can remember, having seen every movie on the big screen. When he’s not hard at work with his college studies, he keeps himself busy by reporting on all kinds of Star Wars news for SWNN and general movie news on the sister site, Movie News Net. He served as a frequent commentator on SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast.
..
remake it “Ready, my body is” The only thing that changed here is swapping ready and is..
Finn “whooooooooo!!!!!!”
Han”YAAAAAAHOOOO!!!!!”
Anakin: Yippee!
amirite?
no Anakin:”I HATE SAND!”
Finn “whoooooooooo!!!”
So, I guess that means a Thanksgiving Day release.
Kind of surprised they didn’t finish sooner tbh. So excited!
better than LOTR that basically wrapped the day before.
Not that uncommon. TFA is done early, by Hollywood standards. The Avengers shot an extra scene a week before release.
Will the comments section be disabled to prevent spoilers as we get close to the release date in many countries? I will be staying away from the site as we get closer to the date but it because of international release dates being different it would be cool if the comments were temporarily disabled on posts directly related to TFA content (or maybe just carefully patrolled?)
Wouldn’t be a bad idea, I’m fortunate that I live in a country where it will be releassed earlier than USA/UK. So I won’t be spoiled as fast as people who can’t see it until the 18th. Also I’m not going to spoil anything, but there are idiots that spoil anything in comments on websites/Youtube.
great now i have to avoid star war’s youtube channels
Well, not the Youtube channels in particular. My guess is that they will add a spoiler warning in the title/discription. However the comments beneath the movie are the problem. Multiple times I’ve seen GoT/Walking Dead spoilers, series/movie spoilers etc.
Yeah I’ve seen that too… if there is some big twist you know it’s gonna be hard as hell to avoid online and on social media once the movie is out.
Sadly, yes, I suspect there will be both “silly people” who don’t realise it’s not cool to give away the whole movie just because THEY have seen it, and I think there will also be people who get a kick out of ruining things for others, so they’ll probably post it deliberately. I won’t be using the internet from the time of the LA premiere on December 14 to my 9:30am session on opening day.
with all due respect, no amount of patrolling will be enough to cover the sheer scale of the response.
In fact, what ARE your plans, SWNN? for the release of the movie i mean, will you have like an article talking about the tailgating followed by a film review?
I’m just not sure how you’re gonna go about this, now that the Day is nigh upon us…
Go Cold turkey, shut down the internet from 14th until the release of the movie
yeah, right….
May the Force be with us!!
SHUT UP FIRST ORDER SCUM!
IT’S A WRAP!
Erm… This… being the case, couldn’t they just pop back into the studio for a couple of hours and redub Kylo Ren – Adam’s own voice, which sounded low enough already in Tracks without the ransom call pitch-shifting, then just apply the same mild phasing effect used for Vader, in keeping with Ren’s apparent idolatry of him. I think this is otherwise the only thing that’s going to spatter the magnificence. Pretty please. 28 days. Easy.
So you’ve seen the final version of the movie already?
No, they need to sell pitch shifting toy masks to children
I think a mild phasing effect mask would be pretty successful. imagine the advert. ‘Daddy, it’s hardly doing anything, but I like it.’ When I used to read my Darth Vader poem at open mic nights I’d wave a piece of paper in front of the mic as I spoke. Many in the audience needed ambulances.
I wish I’d have been there. I have many audio plugins in my DAW but I never tried to sound like Vader
Well the English comedian Harry Hill got an excellent approximation of a vocoder by gargling water as he sang Cher’s Do You Believe In Life After Love. It was spot-on. Audio plugins schmaudio plugins…
What are the chances of that ?
Quite subjective.
I was about to say “It’s a wrap – WOO” but I see you guys got to it first, so instead I’ll make a more unique contribution:
That Photopaste of the Death Star II over Abrams is really not a good photo, poor quality resolution, and bad photoshopping, the curve of the Death Star has chunks out of line that cut black into JJ’s shoulder, what does the Death Star have to do with the film wrapping?
overall, why does this photo even exist?
Thank goodness there was no reported drama about the final edit. Hopefully it indicates that the movie is going to rock!
And I’m now sort of thinking like everyone else that SW news outlets as well as movie info areas may have to be blocked on my phone and computer. Maybe there is an ap that I can use to stop me…
Can’t imagine what a mind trip it was for JJ. From a huge fan to… directing it. After all this time I’ve never really heard one thing that gave me legitimate fear.
Of course there are a few things I worry may not come across… but that’s about it.
And to think… even when the dust is settled… we get to wait for Rogue One as well! This ride isn’t stopping for 6 years!
It is complete!
I remember somebody posting the trailer here with a lens flare count and it topped out at something like 25-30 so not really sure what the fuck he’s going on about here.
