Four New Journey To The Force Awakens Promos Tease Alien Tales.
Four promotional images for a new Star Wars: Journey To The Force Awakens book have materialized, showcasing Constable Zuvio, the Crimson Corsair, Bobbajo, and more in action. (Thanks to Jedi Bibliothek for the images/information.)
Just for a quick recap, the four stories will all be featured in the same book Tales From A Galaxy Far, Far Away. Each tale will feature its own distinct style – “High Noon On Jakku” will be a western, “The Crimson Corsair And The Lost Treasure Of Count Dooku” will be a pirate story, “All Creatures Great And Small” will be a fable, and “The Face Of Evil” will be a thriller. The book will be released on December 1 and will also feature two stories that have not yet been revealed.
Grant has been a fan of Star Wars for as long as he can remember, having seen every movie on the big screen. When he’s not hard at work with his college studies, he keeps himself busy by reporting on all kinds of Star Wars news for SWNN and general movie news on the sister site, Movie News Net. He served as a frequent commentator on SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast.
the face of evil… so this is what happens to Furbies when they are not loved enough and turn to dark side. definitely the greatest aliens that came out of creature shop since uhm.. sorry, cannot recall anything THAT terrible
I think that “face of evil” is just taking the “rape sloth” meme to a whole new level.
This looks amazing! Except for the yellow fluffy muppets…
is that Maz Kanata in book 3
That’s Bobbajo.
This face of evil guys are creepy cute. Is it me, or are there several BSG references in TFA – ? – these guys look like Daggit, the laser cannon from the recent Disney promo is very BSG, and calling Snoke as “Supreme Leader” is hows the Cylons leader always addressed their leader.
Is this a YA book or a regular novel?
A collection of young readers’ short stories.
Well Lost Stars is the best entry in the new canon thus far so maybe this will continue the trend and won’t be the blind cash grab some on here are expecting it to be.
Well Lost Stars was Young Adult, this is Young Readers, so it’s probably more for kids.
Yea, but so were those Han, Leia, and Luke novellas. Those were awesome.
“The Crimson Corsair And The Lost Treasure Of Count Dooku” this sounds like a really cool adventure, looking forward to it!
Can you already hear the Indiana Jones theme?
is that a Neimoidian or a Duros?
It looks like the latter to me.
Very strange they would use the name Crimson Corsair as that is already a character name in the Watchmen universe.
Lol, you pick out ONE name that you know.
Did you know that Marvel and DC alone share 653 (yes, sixhundred and fifty three) names between their universes? And you pick out one description of a Star Wars character (mind you, not a name) from all of comic history.
I think it’s more of a testament to their creativity that they don’t even use double names, but you can only find one book title like this.
Whaa? I’m just curious why they used a name that was recently featured in a prominent DC comic. They must have known it was used before. Maybe it was a tribute, who knows? Don’t understand why you take it as some kind of assault on the film or feel personally invested in the matter. Chill.
Crimson Corsair? That sounds awesome!
Red pirate basically. Not quite as imaginative as it sounds. I do like the design though. I believe it’s either a recycled prequel or Old Republic design.
He was my favorite new character design they showed at comiccon. Do you have any proof he is from the prequelTOR? he looked all new to me.
No, he’s new. The design is very similar to things seen elsewhere though, especially in SWTOR.
Yeah, ill pass on these. Looks like they just want to sponge up some more money before the release of the movie.
Well no shit. Anyway, these are just cute little short stories for the kiddies, so I wouldn’t make a deal about it.
Dooku must have left something behind on Geonosis, I mean Jakuu, I mean not-Tatooine.
Gotta say the Crimson Corsair looks pretty damn cool.
Still… for canning the old EU they sure are filling it right back up with questionable stuff 😛
The main green meanie on Face of Evil book – anyone else think that’s a first look at Snoke..?
I don’t think so. He looks terrified instead of terrifying. There still is possibility, but that’s just not how I would represent the great villain to people for the first time.
Hmm…think your reasoning is sound, I have to agree with you..damn it..
I can see Simon Peg beside the crimson corsair
Is that the first image of SNOKE???!!!!
I’m looking forward to these if they are anywhere near the quality of Smugglers Run, Weapon of the Jedi, and Moving Targets. Those have been the best NEU stuff to me.
It seems that these are all purchased separately. At least that’s how they are going to be sold digitally.
tbh, most of new aliens feel very Del Toro-esque to me, kinda wsh they had involved GL a little bit more, even as a creative consultant, i found all the new alien races from Prequels pretty spot on – visually at least. these guy feel very general and not so-SW to me, not that they are bad, but I would more see them in Hellboy than Star Wars
