I’m so excited to see this episode later, it’s about time the B-Wing finally has a chance to shine on screen!

The helmets are a little dorky looking but it’s a nice break from the X-Wing ones used in everything.

    One of the better episodes.

Will always be the T-Wing to me. The ONLY reason why it’s called the B-Wing is because Bill George built and even he thinks it’s a stupid name.

That female Mandolorean sure sounds a lot like Bo Katan to me too.

B(lade) Wing. When I heard the ship designer say that name, years of confusion suddenly washed away.

Where did he say that? I never heard it called that until today. It’s not even named onscreen or in the novelization.

Quarrie called it a Bladewing, when he first introduced the Rebels to it.

Haven’t actually watched the episode yet but Jeff’s theory makes the most sense in the new canon, Shame they didn’t think to use it themselves yet.

During the episode he says “…my Blade Wing…” I am sure some eager youngster can provide a clip of it.

I believe you but I think you are the first here to make the B-Wing connection to it. It’s canon now far as I’m concerned unless we see something to contradict it.

Don’t worry. When you see the episode, everything will tie up for you, I’m sure. This episode shows precisely how the Rebels came to acquire the B-Wing design in the first place. It is a completely custom craft that I am assuming after this the Rebels will get Slayn & Korpil to manufacture some of them.

I just hope to get a Lego set of this version of the B-Wing with Quarrie and Hera with the helmet on and I will be a happy camper.

Do they ever make the Blade Wing/B-Wing connection though?

You should get credit for that one!

Yes. Quarrie specifically calls it a Blade Wing when talking with Hera when they first meet, and it is also called a B-Wing during the episode, which is really unimportant as the ship design is the B-Wing whether they actually say that or not.

Someone said you can sort of see an imaginary one if you look around the wings which is kind of hard to explain online,

Likewise. Now I don’t have that problem anymore, haha! I am sure those creating the episode have had the same concerns growing up, and this was their opportunity to fix it!

I loved that they finally gave a reason for why A-Wings and B-Wings are in Rebels and why there weren’t any in ANH! It makes sense that it would take a while for the cells to merge together, which they do in ROTJ, and having the ANH Rebel Alliance be a separate cell keeps the tension of the scenes but gives credibility to the interconnections being made in the new age of Star Wars canon!

Is this hinted at or just speculation? I thought Bail Organa was part of this cell?

Great episode. I am so happy that they incorporated the old West End Games material that the B-wing was from project Shantipole. So far it’s still jives pretty well, too. I assume Commander Ackbar is using Slayn and Korpil for the manufacturing out in the hidden Roche Asteroids. It warms my old school Stat Wars heart. I hope they continue to fit this sort of stuff in.

And clearly Quarries is an homage to McQuarrie. Awesome.

I haven’t watched the episode yet. Was Ackbar actually acknowledged as the B-Wing designer, it is canon now?

The Mon Calamari character (designer of the B-Wing) in the episode was in fact NOT Ackbar.

I know that. For one, Ackbar isn’t Ugnaught-sized, and for two he didn’t have a fish-stache. But in his comment Tervlon mentioned Commander Ackbar so I wondered if he was name-dropped in the episode.

I am almost certain Ackbar was not mentioned or even hinted in this episode. Quarrie (the Blade Wing designer) was in contact with Rex.

This episode was great and felt very Star Wars to me. The animators did a great job with the space battle scenes too and the ships and everything looked beautiful while soaring through space and in atmosphere.

Good episode, but… I don’t understand why the B-Wing was so powerful?

Ion cannons, blasters, laser cannons, and concussion missles I believe. Quite heavily armed for a starfighter and has powerful sheilds too.. Only downside is it’s speed.

Which is the same lame ass excuse Lucas gave for making everything CG in the prequels “it’s not real so why should the audience care?”

I don’t know, Maybe because it looks fake and shows creative laziness. By that logic, We should just go back to cardboard sets and silent films.

Well the ship is in it’s prototype stage and they did have to change up the design when it comes to mass-producing as seen in a new hope so yeah. Also as strong at it is there will always be a weak point. One is its speed.

Ok, yeah. That’s what I was thinking. I didn’t think there was any way EVERY B-Wing was this powerful.

Am I the only one who picked up an homage to Johnston’s Rocketeer when Hera took the prototype out on its first run? Even the music sounded like Horner’s score. Don’t take this as criticism, I thought it was a terrific sequence – definitely an earned bit of awe.

The fly of B-wing is sooo beautiful. But the power is exagerated. I don’t know why they have to do that. (Easy things Filoni! Easy canon) Rebels should answer questions, not make more of it. Now we need an explanation why b-wing in ROTJ are not so powerful. One of them could destroy an entire star destroyer!

Remember, this is a unique prototype. The company that manufactures these for the Rebels will likely have to make major concessions when it comes time to build. I am sure many of the weapons systems needed to make it as powerful as the prototype will be hard to acquire in the Empire.

Ok. Rebels is set 4 years before Rogue One. Probably some of this rebels will have some importance during Rogue one film events. Do you think they should appear? You will be disappointed if they don’t? Or do you think they will be all dead?

Actually I am beginning to think we may not see any of them in R1. The Rebel cells all act independently all the way up to Jedi, apparently, when the Rebel fleet is amassed into an armada for the first time.

Have you watched the Rebels recon yet? Pablo has good things to say about this.

the writing in this episode reached an all time low “You’re co-irritating me” – brilliant Filloni, just brilliant.

oh and Agent Callus failed again, what a surprise.

The opening impressed me, the Rebels actually lost a fight and some people died on their side! It was all downhill from there.. The Empire lost the element of surprise and knew the Rebels were coming back (now knowing what they were up against) but left the same forces to fight the Rebels. The B Wing was just way too powerful (mini-deathstar) and one thing that bugged me, they physically harmed and threatened the B Wing designer for not getting better results. Isn’t the Empire supposed to be the ones doing stuff like that?
