Star Wars: Uprising introduces players to the Anoat Sector, where they can band together with smugglers, freedom fighters, bounty hunters and gangsters to rise up against the Empire as it tries to maintain control of the galaxy. They can also create unique characters, go on missions, develop skills, build up their gear, and recruit crewmembers for sector battles, all in an effort to create their own version of a Star Wars hero.

I can’t play on my iPad because the app crashes all the time. But I could play long enough to create a character. And I heard the background music… JAVYAR’S CANTINA! I was so happy for that 😀

I started it yesterday after work, and was amazed the next time I looked at the clock and it was well past midnight. It’s the kind of game a completionist gamer like me loves – max every armor set to get your “check mark” and unlock blueprints, keep progressing to get better gear, upgrade that gear, etc.

Lots of fun stuff so far, though I will admit that the missions are pretty much all of a similar flavor. The story isn’t necessarily bad, but I find myself wishing I had a little more agency in what actions I took. There’s a whole part where you’re essentially just assassinating people who annoyed you in your past – not much room for negotiation or compassion, should one be so inclined.

Still, I find myself both grateful and irritated at myself for locking my phone in my car at work. Otherwise, I might not get anything done today (commenting on this site counts as getting work done, right? 🙂 ).

So I´ve been following this forum for quite some time, but never heard this theory before. According to the book Afthermath, Mon Mothma says she wants to limit the Alliance/New republic to 10% of it’s original size it was during the galactic civil war after the conflict has resolved. Even so she wants to seperate her military and policital power, not repeating what Palpatine did with his emergency powers. So maybe, the Resistance of episode 7 is part of this non-governmental (sort of) 10% of what remains of the alliance military, now acting as a peace-keeping force. In the meantime the First order is what remains of the empire (as we already know). So it’s like the Empire vs Rebels, but on a much smaller scale.

No wonder their back to square one in episode 7. Stupid decisions like that.

Mon Mothma: I want to just give a big hug to the Empire remnants and I KNOW they will hug me back!!

It’s a great game! Ben playing since beta, and I really love how well done the game is, even though it is a mobile game.

That image of Jabba the Hutt statue being destroyed by Imperials finally suggests how important is Tatooine in Star Wars storytelling, and reminds us of the important fact that Mighty Jabba has been killed, leaving Tatooine with no rule. Yes, you know exactly what I am suggesting, and nothing but The Force Awakens will put things on its place.
