I only liked that one because of Bill Hader

I hope this whole Digital Collection nonsense is just a final obligation to appease Lucas before Disney moves on to the real business of releasing the OOT in HD a few months from now

It would make sense of why they’re doing the digital (only) so early. Gives a bit of space for a release later in the year. We know that RM made the 4K restoration and that so far it is not being used. Just don’t know if it’s OOT.

They arent doing this to appease the creators. It is an average marketing deal. The original trilogy you speak of is not going to be released by any official company.

So do you work for Disney or are you just a random internet shmoe pretending that his opinion is fact?

I think he is dead on actually. This is first and foremost a business, and with a new film 6-8 months away its a no brainer business strategy to peak some interest in their back catalog

Yeah! They should digitally re-insert the matte lines and that orange blob under Luke’s speeder from the original release. That was what made star wars truly great.

Yeah bro. Nothing beats Han Solo being moved around like a puppet and an all CG Jabba. The old FX were laughable and look like they were from the 1920’s or something. I hope they add in some new lightsaber battles with a CG Luke and Vader! All old movies suck because now we have awesome computers. All old films should be updated for the modern fanboy. Clop clop, fart.

2011 version of OT is final and the best version.

Yeah, the movies really improved about 40-fold now that R2 is behind rocks and the ewoks have fake looking eyelids.

Yes they are improved. Ewoks always looked fake. Now they look at least more organic and live.

That 3 second rule goes a long way in explaining the lack of imagination with the PT designs. It certainly wasn’t in effect with the OT. You can’t look at the Millennium Falcon or Slave 1, TIE fighters, etc and immediately know their function and where the pilot sits and all based on our world. They were quit appropriate, OTHER WORLDLY.

What made those original designs so good was that you weren’t quite sure what to make of them at first and a large part of the fun was discovering more about them as time progressed. Not so with the PT designs. IF you have seen a SR-47 you’ve seen the queen’s ship. If you have seen a military helicopter, you’ve seen the drop ships, etc. Boring and generic and unworthy of Star Wars.

But again, the 3 second rule brings a thought I hadn’t considered before: It wasn’t so much that Lucas suddenly lost his ability to imagine and be creative, he lost his faith in the audience to get it. Shame on you George if that is the case.

I like all designs in PT. In my opinion PT has better designs than OT.

OT designs are too simple and boring.

PT designs are everything than not imaginative.
PT has some of the best designs in star wars universe.

Not buying. Too expensive as I already own the BluRays. I thought they would price this more appropriately. Godfather trilogy was $30 when it went digital.

I can get the BluRays for less, I’ll wait till the price goes down.

We are in a time of inflation, just wait and see what a movie ticket for TFA is.
