I doubt that you have actually seen it. This was a very dark and mature episode that didn’t feel childish to me at all. This was the Star Wars I know and love, which is suitable for both adults and kids alike.

Also to the people who still complain about the art and animation style: We know that it isn’t perfect but what can you expect, it’s not a 300 million dollar funded series. Could you just accept the quality given and enjoy the story.

I forced myself to watch every godawful episode just so I could criticize it with an appeased conscience, so I can say with 100% certainty that this show is lazy, childish crap. Not even talking about the art/animation, which I couldn’t care less about. Characters, dialogue, story, etc. are all lacking. It has rare moments of quality, but never brilliance. It is everything I feared when I heard it announced, and nothing I hoped for. Rebels had potential, and that is maybe the greatest tragedy of all.

It was crap on a stick like it has been so far, It is lifeless the characters voice acting sounds like a group of strangers having an awkward conversation. I never remember anything of the plot or what the show looked like and I struggle to get thru it in one viewing. It makes me think of all the other things I have to do. The design of the characters is awful and if you want to get sea sick watch Tarkins mouth do laps around the bottom half of his face. The mouth animation on all the cast looks like someone left the flap open on a tent.

A hole lot of work has been put into this but no one seems to have spoken about the final product and how it presents. It looks like slivers from each department is stuck in a book press and then sold without the proof reading being done. Its too uptight and stiff visually and verbally and there is nothing that distinguishes it as unique or interesting.

It is a show than seems to be driven by the fear of not being liked or accepted and piss that robot off I don’t care who drew it. (There are reasons that it didn’t make it into the final draft)So S.W.R. is very much all the rejected ideas from a few years in the mid 70s that didn’t work then and don’t work now. In all honesty Jar Jar would be refreshing to see in this show and everyone fu**king hates Jar Jar

Ok, I have to say this. I think having a jedi, and oh my goodness, a jedi in training, is really detracting from A New Hope. It’s starting to mess it up.

      Yep!!

It’s a New Hope, no wait we already had a Jedi. I know let’s make a show that destroys the story lines of the first Star Wars movie.

I think the above clip is a good example of what is so awful about SWR. The poor character design really shows in this lighting especially with Tarkin. But the problem is the entire show look’s animated its easy to see decisions being made about the light, movement, timing and cutting. The “I’m not sure what I am doing with this? what direction am I supposed to be going in?” really comes thru.

The show is too overloaded with the responsibility it has to be great and it seems to have paralyzed everyone working on it. There is nothing natural about this show, everything is presented to us in a very nervous way that is unappealing to people. But watch the above clip again and see that everyone working on this show is freaked out so much that the story and animation is being awkwardly forced out onto the screen like it was walking into a trap and is afraid of dying.

Every one needs to take a few steps back and say “f8ck this SW pressure lets make a show that is entertaining and provides the thrills, excitement and the thin but symbolic plot of the original SW idea…but all I am doing is shitting myself and hoping people will buy this because it has SW on it” This show has to get a life of its own and very quickly its already been 13ep and its going nowhere and has shown no improvement since it first aired.

How do you know that that’s not what they’re doing? Are you an animator? Do you work in television? Have you ever worked in ANY creative arts?

Your opinions carry NO weight whatsoever. Don’t comment on technical aspects of something you know NOTHING about.

And can’t you just enjoy them for the story they’re telling? That’s the whole original point of Star Wars to begin with – they’re fun stories. Quit taking everything so seriously.

And princess if you notice I am saying the same thing you are “f8ck this SW pressure lets make a show that is entertaining and provides the thrills, excitement and the thin but symbolic plot of the original SW idea…but all I am doing is shitting myself and hoping people will buy this because it has SW on it”

Anonymity is good as fans of franchises can be dangerous not only to the people in their chosen franchise but also to people who dont agree word for word what they believe in be it SW or ST or BG or religion. Why do you need to know who says what do you want to track them down and express your anger to them personally (violently). Or do you want to be an adult and take the comments for what they are criticism. And engage with your own opinion and we can see if you are worth listening to.

Viral Hide are the “Anonymous” amongst us about to be convicted of thought crime. I agree the abuse can be thick, But Viral you are condemning us all for the words of the few. The innocent don’t take kindly to a forum about a 37yo movie franchise taking the Bush administration stance to its contributors.

I hope you are not taking the attitude of “If you have nothing to hide why worry” or “SW jingoism”. Having someone know my name doesn’t change my opinion but it does concern me that the Jingoistic amongst us will target me when I post on this forum. You need to contact Anthony Pascall and talk to him about how he managed trekmovie.com That sight was brutal at times and the Vitriol directed at Bob Orci would make your skin peel off but that’s the world we live in.

And like water it found its own balance and contributors became familiar with each other and the abusive amongst them were delt with by the other contributors. And it became a community of genuine people with differing opinions and a thick enough skin to be a part of it. If you want to have this forum to be what you want it to be you need to change the world first as it is full of abuse an anger and there is no getting away from it. Just be gratful you don’t have a “MJ and the sock puppets”.

It’s pretty simple. Free speech does not guarantee anonymity. I’m sure John Hancock was all “Can I just write “anonymous” on the declaration?

Get off your high horse. The anonymous system gives people boldness to be bigger jerk than they normally would. Don’t like it then leave.

Viral Hide anonymity is important as people will look to attack the person and not the comments they made. Fandom attracts some very tiny brained people who cannot deal with or process anything negative said about what they love. Anonymity is a defence mechanism against these hysterical fans/people

I would really enjoy liking this show but it has a huge amount of flaws. Saying so does not mean I am pouring hate on it or complaining, what I am doing is pointing out some obvious points that others in this forum have noticed about the quality of this animation. It is not being done to be cruel or mean it is being said in the hope that the people who create this show will take note of opinions outside of their workplace and consider them when creating their work.

And what that are creating is not (excuse the term) High art they are creating a product that makes money and profit. And they are not above having their faults in their work pointed out to them. Its how we/they improve the quality of their/our work by listening to criticism that is constructive rather than retaliation with behavior that makes me think you have confused my opinion with some kind of deliberate attack on you from a band of mad max throwbacks who are doing it just to get at you.

There is an important difference that people in these forums don’t understand. Criticism is not being abusive its being constructive it can be a subtle difference sometimes but its up to the artist not to make a fool of themselves by taking it personally and looking easily baited. Or involving yourself in the debate because you think people should not say something and it makes you angry and want to lash out at them. Its times like these that the sad state of education in any country really shines thru. Don’t like what is said attack because you don’t have the training or the aptitude to do anything else but shout at people who say thing you don’t like

I really want to like this show, but the action is (no other way to put this) very cheesy. The stormtroopers lack any sense of menace. Having bad aim is one thing, but they are so comedic that the Empire becomes something of a joke. I do like the Inquisitor and thought his scenes were good but, overall, this show needs to tone down the frivolity and increase the tension if it’s going to be anything other than a show for little kids. If it’s not designed for older fans, that’s cool. I thought it was meant to appeal to a broad audience. Like I said, I’m jacked for Ep 7 so I want to enjoy this show/am trying to enjoy it… Hopefully this doesn’t come off as bitchy as some of the other comments. 🙂

I agree that guy who hates it is a troll but.

The story is lazy Jedi in training in the time after Revenge of the Sith and before a New Hope does not sit right.

I though this show was meant to be about the rebels on dantoeen or whatever it was called.

Also the Sith rule of two a master and a apprentice no more no less?

I hope we don’t get these sith inquisitors in the new movies.
Can anybody explain how this guy is different to a normal sith Lord?

The outline for the new trilogy that Lucas came up with is not been used for the new movies either.

We see the fall of the Empire in ROTJ and yet the new trailer seems to show an empire and rebels.

Like they say in the movies we already have I Have A Bad Feeling About This.

We can all complain about the “childish” tone of the show but let us remamber one thing: the whole point of this show is to grab the kids attention into the SW univurse, like, to create a new generation of SW fans. Prosonally, I think that the show isn’t very good, but I can see what they’r doing.

My impression is that fans of the original trilogy, who are excited about ep 7, are watching this show hoping to get a sense that disney is on the right track–that te franchise is in the hands of people who understand why a larger percentage of the fanbase was upset about the prequels, and that they are making the appropriate adjustments. That puts Rebels in an awkward position. On one hand, Rebels is trying to appeal to little kids, and on the other hand it’s trying to tide restless, longterm fans over until Dec. 2015. My opinion is that the show is really close to appealing both to kids and older fans, but that it’s doing an injustice to fans of all ages by watering down the source material. If the writers could just give it a little more of an edge, and to make the Empire formidable again, then it could be awesome. I was a child when I watched A New Hope and Empire the first time, and they were a little scary, but I loved them anyways. Lets give kids more credit, here. If they can handle watching a bunch if idiotic stormtroopers bumbling around and getting blown up, shouldn’t they be able to handle action scenes that don’t denegrate the villains who have defined the franchise?
