Benedict Cumberbatch Visited the Star Wars Episode 7 Set.

Benedict-Cumberbatch3British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who has collaborated with Star Wars Episode VII director J. J. Abrams in Star Trek Into Darkness, has mentioned that he took a look at the set of the highly-anticipated sequel. While he didn’t share any details, this has led to speculation that he may be or may have been involved with the movie at one point, as earlier rumors suggested.

From Metro:

He might have previously denied having any involvement in Star Wars Episode VII – but that doesn’t mean Benedict Cumberbatch has steered clear of the film altogether.

In fact, the actor revealed during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show – ahead of the release of his new movie The Imitation Game – that he’s been closer to the project than everybody might think.

‘I went to the set,’ he admitted. ‘It was incredible’ – before hastily telling the talk show host: ‘I probably shouldn’t be saying these things.’

While rumors have persisted that Cumberbatch will play a character in the film, bear in mind that a set visit in itself is not a confirmation of an actor’s involvement – otherwise, Daniel Radcliffe, Kevin Smith, and Daniel Craig (among others) would be in the movie.

I hope ALL of these guys are in the movie with absolutely 0 fanfare. Like Daniel Craig playing a rodian, Cumberbatch a stormtrooper, and Daniel Radcliffe a tree.

Kevin Smith could play the chief Hutt. Talk smack to Leia before getting Force choked! xD

Then Kevin Smith could make a big speech about how he’s quitting the Empire, then rejoin/quit three more times.

As long as he isn’t the main villain. You can’t have any of the same main characters in both Star Wars and Star Trek. It would kind burst the fantasy bubble a bit.
    Same goes for Simon Pegg.

Don’t forget that Cumberbatch played Smaug and the Necromancer in The Hobbit too! Just think, he could’ve played the major villain in three huge universes! That would’ve been weird…

BC was made for Star Wars. I hope he is in it. So what if he played a Space character in Trek. Like your not allowed to act in another Space themed movie.

This guy loves to manipulate the media to make it seem like he is just about to sign on to star in every major movie franchise.

In fact, he ends up in almost none of them. He was in Star Trek, once.

He is overexposed and I don’t want him in SW or Marvel films, either.

Wish he was in it. Wish Fassbender was in it, too. They’d both make absolutely killer Imperials.

I’d love to see him in Star Was as the main villain, a smuggler, a sidekick or any minor character. I’ve no problem to see him both in ST and SW. When he playe, I don’t see the actor, I see the character.

I am really getting sick of seeing this human being’s name being dropped in this website’s articles. Give us news on actors we know are in the movie.

This guy had a great performance as a villain in Star Trek. He would definitely make a great Sith lord in Star Wars. Can’t understand why some won’t agree and why the production won’t hire him, for the sake of it.

I highly doubt he’s in SW7. Most likely he’s been close to the filming as he’s currently working at Imaginarium on the Andy Serkis directed film “Jungle Book: Origins”
