(translated from German)

Star Wars Rebels: Servants of the Empire 1: Edge of the Galaxy by Jason Fry (10/21/2014):

Zare Leonis seems destined to become the flagship hero of the Empire. His sister Dhara has been included in the estimated Imperial Academy at Lothal and Zare is sure that he will follow her within a year there. But a year can bring a lot of unwelcome changes. He not only begins to uncover the destructive plans of the Empire for Lothal and the livelihood of its inhabitants, but his discomfort manifests itself also in his private life, as Dhara mysteriously disappears. Zare is forced to question everything, and again think about what it means to be a good servant of the Empire. The first book in an original series, the readers insight into another part of the world of Star Wars Rebels will be.

Star Wars Rebels: The Rebellion Begins by Michael Kogge (10/21/2014):

Ezra Bridger comes alone just fine. Ezra grew up in the shadow of the Galactic Empire and has always stolen, what he could to survive – and to the empire a wipe. But as one of Ezra’s raids goes horribly wrong, he finds himself in the company of a team of rebels again. The rebels, who are led by swashbuckling loner Kanan Jarrus and fearless pilots Hera Syndulla, are on a mission to liberate enslaved Wookiees from an Imperial prison. Now Ezra must decide whether he will return to his simple life at Lothal, or wish to join the rebels in their fight for freedom.

The former is an original story that leads into the series itself, while the latter is an adaptation of the forthcoming TV special, Spark Of The Rebellion.

That first clip was actually pretty good. I wanted to see more. Most of the stuff we’ve seen until now has been pretty cringeworthy

Probably because most of the stuff we’ve seen is hawking Sabine Wren.

I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but everything in this show looks okay, except for that silly Sabine character. The silliness of that character is dragging the whole show down with it.

The most interesting character to me is the Twi’lek pilot, and we haven’t really seen much of her at all so far.

Is one allowed to critisize the show after the premiere episode, or does one have to wait until a whole season is over? Just asking in favor of all open minded people.
Just one more sesson. But its a whole ‘nother year!

The McQuarrie/OT police force who runs these forums won’t let you criticize this show till the entire season is over… and even then it’ll be illegal for us to say anything too negative about it.

Have you noticed any of us banning or threatening to ban anyone over expressing dislike towards this series, however pre-emptive it may be?

        No? Didn’t think so.

        Just throwing that out there.

I’ve never actually eaten a turd.

But I don’t think it’s pre-emptive to say that a turd probably wouldn’t be very tasty from the way it looks and smells.

Of course, there are those who do enjoy the smell of manure…

Enough of the stormtrooper-turning-good plotlines. I know Disney isn’t exactly the most creative group that comes to mind, but I thought they would have at least given Star Wars more to work with. i have no faith in this animated mess. Wake me up when we hear some VII rumors/ news.

I don’t think it looks bad based on the first video link at the top of the article. I wanted to see more. The Wookie joke made me laugh as well.

Talking about the characters, Sabine is the worst till now and Hera is the best to me. But I think all the characters will be developed as the series grows. Their past will be explore, mainly the Ezra’s, and will be loving all the people in the show. And I hope they’ll explore others characters instead of focusing in the Ghost crew, like the Agent Kallus, Inquisitor, and another Imperials and Rebels.

These videos are great! The more clips I see of SW Rebels the more I like it. Other than the fairly poor color choice on her armor, I don’t understand why it seems like everyone here has something against her I think she’s alright. I pretty much approve of all they have shown so far.
P.S I just hope there are some storm troopers that manage to wound some of the heroes at some time.

The only BIG problem I have with this series (Based off of the promos and sneak peaks), is how dreadfully awful the animation is. It’s choppy, and unnatural. I also don’t like lots of the voice work, but thats just me.

Another plotline (along with a comic book mentioned in a post a week or so ago) about an Imperial recruit / Stormtrooper who questions his role and considers becoming ‘good’. Maybe this is a further place that rumour about Ep VII started…?

This is more awful then Marvel Star Wars. And that was brutally awful. Arrgh
