UPDATE! New Episode 7 Character Rumors Plus Rebels Video Featuring Darth Vader. Lupita Nyong’o And John Boyega Geeking Out on VII.

As we reported last week, Darth Vader will make a special cameo appearance in Star Wars: Rebels’ premiere on abc. And not only that but he will be again voiced by James Earl Jones.
Now here’s a first look at Vader’s scene from the upcoming premiere.
And now some really interesting bits about Episode VII from BadAssDigest’s Devin Faraci:
Just got a crazy load of STAR WARS info. If it’s true, you’re going to be blown away by who is playing the Dark Knight in that leaked art.
— Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
@John_Estrada no, and I never thought it was. That character has a darkness to him, but he’s not a cyborg.
— Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
@DarthCMPunk part of it is true. There’s a part that I had never heard that sounded wrong at the time. It’s true in a larger sense.
— Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
@NoNameBane actor
— Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
But I can share this: I’m hearing this is Han Solo’s movie. Yeah, Ridley and Boyega are leads, but Han steals it.
— Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
This sounds really interesting. As I told you a few days ago after the concept art leaked, one of our sources shared with us that no major characters in Episode VII will be a cyborg or will have any metal arms or legs or eyes or whatever. Now Devin’s words support that.
Also there are rumors from some time now that some actors intentionally didn’t appear in the Episode VII table read photo. Now I’m not sure if Devin means that the surprising actor who plays the villain is from the already announced cast or a new one. Who might that be? That’s the big question. At least I can tell you that it’s not Daniel Craig as some people already started speculating. Although he might have indeed visited the Episode VII set, his visit at Pinewood was strictly for the new Bond movie and not Star Wars.
And Han Solo’s big part in the movie is something we heard before and is not surprising at all. After all the whole production was shut down for almost a month after his injury. He is important. And it’s great to hear this from Devin too.
We’re only 3 weeks aways from the end of filming and there are really exciting times ahead of us. I’m sure that despite the recent leaks J.J. and the team will have plenty of surprises in store when the movie hits the big screens on December 18, 2015.
Now some more tweets.

I was getting all excited about STAR WARS again until I heard that the Emperor’s canon first name is Sheev. — Devil Faraci (@devincf) October 15, 2014
UPDATE!
Here is maybe the first Star Wars related comment that Lupita Nyong’o posted since she was announced to appear in Episode VII.

Sheev Palpatine?
I don’t hate it, and i don’t like it…
I just want one character in the EU to know that name, so we can get a moment when they fall to their knees and scream “SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEV!” up to the sky.
Hahaha what a funny name it is…..Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeep 🙂
Wasn’t his name Dantius?
I had thought so too, but Dantius may’ve been non-cannon or something else.
We’ve had ‘Crix Madine’, why is this any different?
Someone else will have to break the news then. Sorry, but Devin just loves teasing with his ambiguous boasting. That art leak was the real deal and convincing. I’m tired of playing games of “guess the whopee”. MakingStarWars at least at very in depth descriptions of the concept art. Faraci is just playing games like JJ. “Here’s a little tidbit dogs, now go play.”
Many people have convinced themselves over the years that Han stole the first movie too.
It’s about story focus. So the first film was told from mainly Luke’s POV. Everyone else had stories as well but the film gave it to us from his as opposed to Leia’s or Han’s or Ben’s or Vader’s etc.
Obviously many weeks of shooting have happened without Ford. They are still shooting with his part apparently wrapped according to reports.
For instance reports indicate that in Arndt’s script the focus was more on the new people than the originals. That doesn’t mean the originals didn’t do the same things they still will it’s just that the focus of how they did it will be presented in more scenes. As Lucas said he left a lot of blank spots intentionally in for the film-makers to fill in.
His treatment would set out the basic story and the major beats but leaves lots of leeway for all sorts of things to happen in-between them.
Its Han Solos movie because he is going to be the first to go, each movie in this trilogy is going to off one of the original trilogies main three characters.
to pave the way for a new generation.
And presumably nobody is goign to go out like a punk.
really you got those scripts in hand
As soon as they finish filming I’m pretty sure things are going to go dark for a little while as everything gets put away and the crews start clean up. However they won’t be able to keep quite for long as the extras and crew that are no longer needed and don’t have anything to loose are going to start to talk. So once the wrap party is over I predict we will see official announcements regarding cast and characters within a few weeks.
So Han Solo is going to die, and I am going to be completely devastated. I hope they don’t make this trilogy too dark, and keep the charm of the OT.
Would be nice to see Han Solo in ep8 (To rhyme the OT : Empire) Gives people (new fans) something to grasp and further establish his ‘older’ character’s relationship to family and friends. Making it that much tragic when he exits.
I guess they know what they are doing given the immense factors involved with filming, contracts, story integrity etc. The fates of the OT characters are unquestionably a major concern for fans.
What if the mystery actor is Simon Pegg?
Benedict Cumberbach or how you spell it.
What if it’s Rip Torn?
What? Do you think they are hosting an intergalactic kegger?
Sure, why not? Episode VII- A Phantom Alcoholic!
How about Episode VII: Revenge of the Lush?
Ol’ Rip’s gonna teach us the Five Fs of Force Using:

Fight and FORCE!!!!
RIP: Ya gotta get mean! Ya gotta get angry!
BOYEGA: But Master Rip! We can’t do that, or else we’ll turn to the dark side!
Rip pauses before Force choking Boyega’s nuts.
BOYEGA: AHHH! <:O
RIP: Ya angry now? 😉
….
RIP: You ladies are as useful as a poop-flavored lightsaber!
DAISY: They come in flavors now?
Rip throws a bag of power converters at her.
Heh heh. f I was drunk, I’d pay to see that movie
Dude, if they’re going to go with Rip Torn, they might as well go all the way and make the movie super-camp by honouring Lucas’ original homage to Flash Gordon and hiring Brian “Gordon’s alive!” Blessed. 😀

Sheev is a awful name. Now we know why we didn’t know Palpatine’s first name. Besides, I like to think “Chancellor” and “Emperor” are his first name hehehehe.
Just as “Lieutenant” was Columbo’s first name?
Tom Cruise.
Exactly I would not be surprised if it’s him. Just like I am expecting Ian McDiarmid to return in some form.
At least Palpatine in one form or another if Ian doesn’t return

Silent but deadly! LOL!
Well, he keeps saying the cyborg is a he…there goes the Leia idea some people had. I Believe this is still the bad guy just what they looked like changed.
The only problem with Han´s death (which might make a lot of sense, particularly for the fans who know the context deeper than the average viewer) is that is very, very, very predictable. I would think of JJ as someone coming with surprises and the unexpected. That was one of the elements that made ESB so great. If they are clever they should let someone else go.
But it’s predictable because everyone knows deep down that it needs to happen. It’s time for him to die. I mean if not now, then everyone will expect it to happen in episode 8. Whatever the situation, it won’t be a surprise. Their only option would be to make the circumstances a surprise. Maybe he is suddenly betrayed and THAT’S the surprise for the audience. They can’t just ignore common sense just because it won’t be a surprise. Not every plot point needs to be a big unexpected ‘I am your father’ moment anyway, it can be a big impact because of the actual emotion rather than the surprise of it all.
we all know Han’s gonna die. I WILL EXPECT every time he’ll be on screen that it’ s about to happen….the whole movie…..just great…
“But it’s predictable because everyone knows deep down that it needs to happen. It’s time for him to die.”
But why? Honestly… if the reason is akin to most fans’ belief that the new trilogy should erase the OT characters out of existence to focus on building new ones (at the expense of the originals of whom were largely responsible for Star Wars’ success in the first place) then I would argue instead that due to the newly established canon now is as good a time as any to write these characters’ into the sunset, and further explore their stories in books, games, etc. therefore not taking away from newer characters, and continuing their stories for those of us who do not want to see their deaths forever tarnish Star Wars. That way we all get what we want, eh?
Who knows? If the rumours are true about Luke turning evil, then what if he was the one who kills Han? That would certainly raise some eyebrows
Wanna’ raise an eyebrow? How about Admiral Ackbar shooting Han Solo in the back over some naval incident? I can just imagine the dialogue, Han draws the blaster a little too late.
Ackbar: Looks like I shot first.
Han (dying): Smartass…
*Ackbar locks Han in a room*
Han: What the-
*A door starts to open, the vacuum of space immedietly sucks han out and thats the end of han*
Ackbar: Heheh It was a trap.
How anyone gives MSW and Devin the time of day is beyond me. The biggest attention seekers on the net. Stop making stupid people famous
Not sure if this has been said, but does anyone think it’s a possibility that Hayden Christianson is playing the dark knight? As in clone Vader?
It’s Jar Jar Binks! The Grave Robber’s hood is oddly shaped. Like there’s room at the corners for big ears.
this guys mechanical hand looks a lot like vaders hand, i think…what if vader didnt really die and just kind lost most of his body.
If that theory were true, I think it would be more of a Vader ‘Copycat.’ Someone who perhaps wanted to keep that legacy alive.
The Cyborg is Sidious
The Walrus was Paul
Not a clone. Anakin’s Force ghost
Rrrraaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!
(“Sheevil Knievel Palpatine”)
Good call, Chewie! At least you weren’t thinking with your stomach this time.
IV V I II CW III R VI
Cw doesn’t really fit in. Anakin in cw is weirdly older than in iii. They can call it cannon, but the feel of the character is quite different too.
IV V VI
I really like Sheev Palpatine .. What do people expect? David Palpatine? Super Evil Mr Palpatine ?
Bob Palpatine. Duh.
Shannon. Possibly even Julian.
Obviously Frank Palpatine. He insisted that Queen Amidala should adress him by his first name: “I must be Frank with you …”
So it’s not Luke? Luke hasn’t gone bad?
Maybe it’s the rumoured daniel day lewis from a while ago. Or sigourney weaver as a lot of people seem to think it’s a woman. A lot of people were rumoured.
I think the night sisters are going to play a part in this trilogy and it wouldn’t suprise me if sigorny weaver played one and a potential appearance by darth maul as he wasn’t killed in the clone wars!
I read Sigourney Weaver is actually filming a movie, right now,in Buckinghamshire England…..Isn’t that where Pinewood is too?
Maybe I’m too idealistic, but I don’t want any of the original 3 to be evil or die. They didn’t in the OT so there is no need to do that now. I don’t see Luke being evil anyway. Lucas always planned the new trilogy to be Luke handing off to the next generation.
would love it if they announce the movie for a may release instead and have been teasing us the whole time with a dec wait.
Should all check yourself in the mental hospital if for one second you think Luke is evil. He had closure, he knew his father had good in him, Anakin himself said that he had saved him. Luke stood and watched his father’s suit remains burn. Then he saw his father as a young Jedi in his prime.. and you think after all that he would turn to the dark side and worship his father’s burnt armor? Gimme a break.
Someone of the Skywalker bloodline is obviously the grave robber I will admit. As many have said, just look at the admiration and love he/she holds the helmet with. Some strong connection there forsure. Very interesting, but I do believe that is an early rough outline of what they wanted the villain to look like, but I don’t think his/her story changes much.
Then, of course, you find out that this movie is written and directed by JJ Abrams.
I guess it’ s Gary Oldman, he was confirmed that he was approached
Another Dracula actor. Very well could be.
maybe this is a weird assumption, but what if its hayden…..
He’s “The Chosen clone!”
I know who the Villain is but I won’t tell. I’m getting tired of these lame posts. And Palpatine’s name is from a book based on the Rebels series, but not Cannon. Now Montross might be in the film, that was a name from the film canon that didn’t get used, in the comics they made him a Mandalorian, now we will find out he isn’t. I wished these fake books and comics would just….fade away.
I wish people open their eyes and stop mixing apples & bananas. Movies are movies and cartoons are CARTOONS. It belongs to Legends and to me it will always be that way. It may be ok to watch but think of it as cartoon/books/comics/videogames Star Wars universe, where Sheeeep clones, exorcists….wait – inqisition, dark jedi, fuck the rule of two and anythink you can possibly imagine can live its own life anm make so many kids happy 🙂
If what you say is true, the best thing you could do is not tell a blog full of guys/gals that you know who is who or what is what. It makes you sound like a prick for the “but I won’t tell” line or a braggart at the very least.
If Hayden Christianson comes back as a Vader clone or the main badguy, I’ll burn every Star Wars thing I own and disown the movies!! He was the worst thing after Jar Jar in those prequels!!
Oh, and Sheev? Seriously???
Sheev? No wonder he killed his parents.
“Seriously?” You couldn’t sound more valley girl if you were a dude breaking in your sister’s pumps. Let’s be correct, the prequel actors (with the exception of the rebellious Ewan McGregor) were ALL nothing more than puppets for a man who at this point has only directed 4 films in thirty years (1976, 1997, 2000, & 2003) and the only reason the original came out as good was from his being aided by his industry buddies who padded the dialogue or suggested certain dynamic approaches. Even the damn actors gave a little, like Harrison Ford (Ford also did spin doctoring for scenes in Empire and Raiders as well). Blaming the actors for doing what they were told to do is like shooting the messenger. Christiansen made suggestions in both Episodes II & III for Anakin to be more believable, but Lucas shot these down with his “Oh, he is who he is” gibberish. I suppose the highlight of your Star Wars experience was watching the Ewoks dance around at the end of Return of the Jedi
Wow, talking dump on Ewoks? that’s hitting below the belt a little. No, the Ewoks weren’t the highlight. I thought that Ben in the Cantina with those alien dudes was a way better scene.
Guy: You just watch yourself,
Luke: ok, I’ll be careful…
Guy: (grabs luke) YOU’LL BE DEAD!
priceless.
Yub yub! Not hating on the Ewoks. Just making a point. I should’ve used the ceremony at the end of Phantom Menace(when Jar Jar got his foot caught in the stirrup) as the example. My apologies. 🙂
All this speculation is somewhat ironic, considering this is the most (internally) documented SW film in history. As we speak (and since the beginning) hundreds of hours of behind the scenes footage have been shot by dozens of individuals covering every aspect of this movie. Even the first meetings between Disney and Lucas, and between Lucas and Arndt before that we’te documented.
Yet here we sit, chasing after vapors.
“There is nothing more interesting than a wall behind which something is happening.”
I’m sure the eventual Blu Ray will have hours upon hours of bonus stuff. All your questions will be answered by the end of the year 2020.
I’ve always thought his name should be Dane Palpatine.
Dantius?
William Shatner is the villain?
(JK)
Please please please let the villain be
Tilda Swinton.
Sheev may be a reference to the Hindu deity Siva, destroyer of worlds
I like the destroyer of worlds reference though Siva/Shiva has 1008 names so they could have gone with one of the others. 😉 Sheev doesn’t make or break anything for me though.
Sheeven Spielberg
Sheev McQueen
Adam and Sheev
It’s Leia, she turns to the dark side &’Han tries to bring her back. She is the one investigating Vader.
You did read that the surprise is about the ACTOR, not the CHARACTER, right?
Kinda strikes me as a “Richard” or “Harry” fellow. Maybe even a “Lawrence” or “Julian” or “Alphonse”…
I’m just gonna stick with: Lord Sidious 😉
…. and every time I read the words “Lord Sidious”, I get an urge to say it in a Nemoidian accent – “Lord See-dee-oos”. Dammit, brain!
That dolt Kyle is back posting on the forums. Von Sydow is not a villain. Keep posting little variations on rumors people already know. Obvious troll is obvious.
LOL, he always posts stuff after a round of rumors. Make me suspicious. Last time it was after the “I am your father moment” from MSW, this time after the concept art leak.
Not necessarily related to this post but… I don’t know if this has been thrown out there yet, but I have yet to see this theory about the chrome trooper. If Luke is the ultimate Jedi Knight, why not have him don the Chrome Trooper outfit? It would explain why we have not seen his Jedi beard in any concept stuff yet, as it would be covered, and it would harken back to an old and aged knight in shining armor.
George Walton Palpatine. AKA ‘Sheev’.
“No,..EYE……am your daughter.”
I was thinking he may be in that armour too.maybe he has infiltrated the empire or whatever they are.it would be kept secret til the end of the movie. It would be a throwback to anh.
Isn’t he a little short to be a Chrome Trooper?
I keep thinking the villain is some sort of reversal or twist on the Vader/Luke paradigm from the OT. To keep with the familial theme.
If the protagonist is Ridley then maybe the Dark Knight/Grave Robber is her mother?
It could also be a son of Luke once thought perished at a young age. Maybe thats what drove Luke into seclusion?
…or something else entirely. Knowing how much they want to connect this to the OT, I just keep thinking it has to be some variation of of the Vader/Luke dynamic.
The actor is Pernilla August! It’s Shmi Skywalker!!!
…just kidding …sort of.
Or maybe the Dark Knight is Batman. That is a possibility.
That was a good one. Al most spit my soda out
Harrison Ford insists Han Solo must die and now we have to watch beloved characters whose narrative was resolved in ROTJ all bite the dust in ways that will definitely affect the way the original trilogy will be seen in hindsight. I love The Beatles, and while I don’t love “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” they don’t ruin the twelve albums they made together when they were all alive. Still it was a highly unnecessary and problematic addition to their oeuvre, and I don’t see a reason for these new Star Wars episodes if they come at the expense of the legacy of the three main characters. Luke or Leia turning dark, watching Han and Chewie die, are all unnecessary if you ask me. My humble opinion. I wish I could say I’d rather have these than not, but I am not so sure I can.
I was saying 2 years ago, that this is exactly why I don’ t want to see the holy trinity back – I don’ t need to see them old, I don’ t want to see them die, I want to keep them in my memory frewh and young, with great ending of E6. It could be a story of new heroes, letting the faře of old ones toeveryones imagination. Because now it is risky how it ends – we may see them die, or in a plot we may not like and it can negatively affect how we see the OT…..
All our beloved heroes will suffer and die.
And so will we.
We must not hide ourselves from this truth.
Then wait till next trilogy
Nothing wrong with a death or two, if done right. Happy endings where all live happily ever after is not a Star Wars thing. “Real Love” is better f played at its slower, original speed.
The answer is right in front of you fools.
The new evil lead us Warwick Davis as the evil twisted dark Ewok.
Found the helmet in his back yard a couple if years later & was taken over by Vaders spirit, lightsaber fell from the Death Star and he has now become Lord Furso
If the Grave Robber image is some kind of reference to Shakespeare’s Hamlet, then Prince Hamlet is the main character who’s Uncle Claudius murders his father to usurp his throne. Basically then it’s all about misguided revenge.
I don’t know where to post this, but this

Now, does that look similar or not ?!
If its Tom Cruise, that would be super LAME
Benedict Cumberbatch will be the character collecting Sith souvenirs. It was obvious from the read through photo that there were others in that room. JJ is very clever, whatever you think you know regarding these leaked photos and rumours are just what JJ has ALLOWED you to. There is just NO way all these lapses in security would be tolerated. It’s like Sherlock said in the last series ; ‘Lies have details!’
This film is still under air tight security & these leaks are to pacify the cravings of every curious person who can’t wait till December 2015.
As an aside: Benedict Cumberbatch played Hamlet a year or so ago to rave reviews. If I am not mistaken one of the leaked concept art pictures is of this mysterious masked man holding Vader’s helmet. Well, if that is not a veiled reference to Hamlet & the skull of Yorick I don’t know what is!! JJ is playing us all. Very clever indeed . .
No one has mentioned Darth Maul. He isn’t dead. The Clone Wars Maul story arc ended with him getting away in the wrap up Darth Maul comics. So Ray Park could be playing him. The villain is someone we know from the prequels.
Hey….what? Who isn’t dead? Come ooooon 🙂 I’ve seen him being cut in half 🙂 don’ t tell me Maul is alive 🙂 Because if he is, now anyone can miraclously be alive Anakin, Palpatine….fuckin Shmi!!! HAHAHA this is really joke 🙂
The Clone Wars are canon, and in the series Maul is back. For now, nobody has killed maul.
Maul should return in the Obi Wan Spinoff . or his own spinoff to conclude the arc.
Obi Wan trilogy, Ben Kenobi decapitates Maul and his brother and says, “Lesson learned.” as he looks down at those robtic legs.
I can’t go into details, but a colleague of mine who ‘may’ be involved with art production for Eps VII-IX (they’re VERY tight-lipped, but I know for a fact they were contacted months back) mentioned Christopher Walken – then laughed a tantalising ‘am I serious, am I joking’ laugh.
Anyone know what CW’s been up to for the past few months?
This could be nothing, of course, just passing it on.
Christopher Walken?? Seriously? O_o

Captain Hook in Peter Pan Production.
If the Grave Robber image is some kind of reference to Shakespeare’s Hamlet, then Prince Hamlet is the main character who’s Uncle Claudius murders his father to usurp his throne. Basically then it’s all about misguided revenge.
You’re right! There are plenty of other OT characters that can make a tragic/heroic exit and still leave a strong emotional void, only to be filled by our growing infatuation for the new characters.
What about Mace Windu? He survived the fall, and seeks to build a new jedi order while avenging himself upon the children of Anakin Skywalker….
Sam Jackson was told no.
Suuuure….. That is EXACTLY what JJ wants you to think!
Sam asked JJ he said he didn’t hear anything.
Mace survived fall. Should be either in ‘Rebels,’ Obi Wan Spinoff or Other movie during the purge. He could return to the ST as a hologram from a holocron. He would have sought or helped yoda in the galactic civil war given his importance in the order. But Yoda told luke:”When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be.”
As much as I would love Mace to show up, its not happening. If characters who survive horrendous falls in cliffhangers and hang from a branch, flagpole, or bounce off an awning. Is to the modern audience…BS.
If these sinerios of farfetched deaths have characters return then who cares what happens in any giving moment, this isn’t a WB cartoon or Superman being crushed by a train and shaking it off.
Boba Fett, “Sheev/Palpy”, and Mace Windu are dead as far as I’m concerned, and will not be back in Episode 7. Boba may have crawled out but Mace died Via Sheev’s window.
But if Darth Vader’s Helmet can come back then maybe you will get to see Lando’s cape. d÷D
Mace Windu. Could that character have BEEN any more dull?
Whatever happened to Mara Jade? No actor has been confirmed to play her, but there is strong evidence that there is a bright red wig in the shoot.
What if Gwendoline Christie is playing an Evil Mara Jade?? She didn’t appear in that cast photo did she?
Whatever they do Hayden Christensen is not on their list. That would just be wrong on many levels. Quite honestly i think Lucas should’ve cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Anakin in the first place.
That aside, I SINCERELY with all of my heart hope that they do not have Andy Serkis as the villain. We do NOT need another Azog the Pale Orc thank you very much. (or his equally non-existent friend Bolg)
That grave robber drawing has a woman’s lips. Doesn’t anybody see this?
The Grave Robber IS Daisy.
She is seduced to the dark side.
Grave robber is Leiah!!!! Luke,Han & Daisy try to stop her. She was seduced to the dark side being trained by Luke.
I believe Andy Serkis is playing the cyborg character. not sure if it’s mocap or not.
They kept referring to the ‘cyborg’ as he……according to the people who say they know. Leaves Leia and Kira out.
Temuera Morrison’s IMDB filmography is looking a little slim this year. Wonder what Boba Fett would look like if he survived. Not too pretty I’d guess. He’d certainly have the motivation for hunting down our intrepid heroes.
Maybe the cyborg is domhnall gleeson. His role is supposed to be a big spoiler after all. Then the twist is that the villain/domhnall gleeson is Luke’s son. Would be pretty interesting stuff in respect to the previous villain being Luke’s father and now it’s Luke’s son. Poor Luke. Can the guy catch a break !?
This may have something to it. We still have no idea what DG is doing. I read an interview with him where he said if he told anyone who he’s playing it would ruin the film.
It lets them have a Skywalker descendant become obsessed with Vader and try to emulate him … but not ‘ruin’ the Luke character.
If the villain turns out to be Luke’s son then you can have a twist on the iconic line, he says to Luke, “No, YOU are my father”, cue Mark Hamill thinking, “here we go again!!”.
Yeah yeah….and Luke’s shocked coz he complete forgot the only cum inside a lady in his life…..and now the one about Red Riding Hood please….:-)
Johnny Cash – A boy named Sheev
Nnnnno she hasn’t.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Boushh
I think its safe to say that
1)The Graverobber figure is a dark side force user. He picks up Vader’s helmet and touches it with a sense of familiarity that can only stemm from a close relationship with the deceased Sith Lord.
2) He seems seriously angered and tries to contemplate what Vader’s death means for the rule of 2 and the fate of the Sith.
3)While his hand is certainly robotic his face in the first picture seems part humanoid – part so ancient that it practically appears like dust. The second depiction of the Graverobber goes for a close up to his face and this is proof that the studio is not yet set on whether they want to go cyborg or really ancient with this character. Thus we have 2 distinct visualizations of him.
4)The ship he Graverobber is on is a Super Star Destroyer i belive, their interiors tend to be depicted a bit darker than the grayish smaller Destroyer vessels. Makes sense as well that it is a Super class because it could be the only thing secure enough that could be used as a safe haven for the Empire Remants. Or maybe its part of a new starship fleet the Graverobber commands>
5) Since we have never seen such a figure in the canon it safe to assume that this character is either a higher-up in Sith society, coming from hyperspace to inspect the results of Palpatine’s blunder in the battle of Endor OR he is actually a secret student/ partner/ fan of Vader. In either cases this nightmarish figure has arrived in the Galaxy and means bussiness.
6) Although we cannot say for sure that the Graverobber is part of a flashback (at what exact point did he retrieve Vader’s helemt?) or he will be present oriented, my money is that he will be a first/second shot OR final scene of the film. Just too important for anyhting in between.
7) This character will be the focus of the new Trilogy, an analog to Vader, not Palpatine who operated from the shadows. Why do I say that? Because he indeed means business and it feels like he has come to take revenge. While his physique does not strike me as a brute force dealer he certainly feels like a powerful Sith Sorcerer or Assasin. In either case he feels like a full-fledged Sith, a careful and savage simultaneously one at that.
That’s all for now…. tell me your thoughts on this
That mountain of shit was fun to read.
BABY SINCLAIR: Again! Not the mama! {8-P
Hey I have only seen the movies and the clone wars series i happen not to have a lot of time reading/playing/watching the entirety of the EU.
Tell me what are your thougts and don’t dismiss it as “shit”. You know? Generate a bit of a dialogue here…
I meant “shit” in a good way. I think it’s either Leia or Domhnall.
I think more and more things are pointing to the Graverobber being Palpatine. What other actor being involved would require this level of secrecy?
Mark Hamill?
I think it’s Obi Wan son.
Thinking the Sith lord is in fact Cumberbatch or the unnamed actor. As far as making the role relevant to current canon he maybe obsessed with Vader and rules it being an ancient or older Sith. The angle of human Plagueis admiring Vader and being his true father, from a certain point of view, is rather interesting and should be explored.
I kill myself if cumberbatch is in it.
Did no one notice her green screen tooth?
Sith Witch for sure
I bet the Grave Robber is Luke’s son (played by DG), who went to the Dark Side after his mum died. He wants to find out if Vader every found the answer as to how to resurrect the dead, so he can see his mum again.
Luke won’t fight his son, so he went into hiding.
Daisy’s character, who is Leia’s and Han’s daughter, tries to stop her cousin, but first she needs to find Luke to train her. Thus the search for Luke.
Also, some time Han dies, protecting his daughter.
Those tweets from Lupita and Boyega are cryptic!
Could be a piece of ham in her teeth, and it’s green (Greenham rebel base – R2D2 also has green on his body, so probably he’s there too).
Plus it looks like a Solo has secretly joined or is in cahoots with the Empire.
Lupita seems happy and is embracing that while Boyega seems angry about it.
Ha-ha, JJ loves his little games!
The secret actor’s going to be Ian McDiarmid.
“He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side, he could even the ones he cared about from dying … Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew.”
Plagueis taught Palpatine how to save people from death. … This idea (above) is not impossible.
And of course, everything Sheeeet says is stone-carved truth. Coz Siths are like Superman – they always say truth. It´s in their nature..
“from a certain point of view”
I was thinking that. If they are hiding an actor, it only makes sense to me that it is because he is someone very familiar to the star wars universe and that could give rise to too much speculation about the plot. My first pick is Ian, so the emperor survived or was cloned or whatever. Otherwise why would they hide an actor even if he is a well known celebrity????
These are my thoughts exactly. A lot of people are saying it’s Benedict Cumberbatch, but why go to a fairly unprecedented level of secrecy to hide that fact? It has to be someone recognizable (in the SW Universe), and the only one that makes a lick of sense is Sidious. Imagine how people would have reacted if Ian McDiarmid was at the table read?
The clone is the one who died in jedi. The clone was imprinted with all of Anakins memories by palpatine. The clone believed he was Lukes father and learned the ways of the qui gon jinn method.Even spirit yoda and obi wan couldn’t tell it at first but by the time they figured it out they couldn’t tell luke. The real Anakin tried to kill Palpatine a few years after episode 3 to get revenge for padmes death.ge Fails AND Palpatine almost kills him but fails.
The real vader escapes.
Ridiculous
SO THE REAL VADER GATHERS OTHER DARK SIDERS TO TRY TO DESTROY THE EMPEROR BUT LUKE SUCCEEDS BEFORE HE CAN MAKE HIS MOVE.The jedi hunters are working for vader.Or Cumberlatch is playing a 30 year old cloned emperor.
BENEDICT: I am… Khlan!
LUKE: LOL. Ahem. Say what now? 😛
BENEDICT: Khlan! I am Khlan!
LUKE: What’s a, heh… “Khlan”?
BENEDICT: Khlan. Like copy. I am Palpy’s Khlan.
LUKE: *Forcepalm*
I heard rumors Hand and Leia never got together in the Disneyverse. With those two pics of Lupita and John, could they be Han’s children from another woman. Therefore could those two pics hint that Lupita loves her father while John has issues. John may have rebelled and joined the New Empire…but…that is too obvious a conclusion from those pics, therefore it has to mean something else. Lupita wearing that green over her tooth to me hints at something more. Green tooth can indicate decay, swamp living analogy or witchery. The only one that fits the SW universe is the latter, then again Lupita could just be goofing off.
Why the Han Solo in Stormtrooper garb, there is the rumor John portrays a Stormtrooper, could Lupita be the one chasing him down. Obviously some clues in those pics are misleading, therefore which clues do you throw out and witch one do you keep.
I’m with the Daniel Day-Lewis guess.
1) Kennedy and Lucas were seen meeting with him last year.
2) He certainly has a terrifying “dark side” (as we saw in There Will Be Blood).
3) I can see him taking this role as a “new challenge.”
What the Sheev is going on with the lack of news around here?
come on, the graverobber is a hoax. For all we know JJ got Simon Pegg to draw that picture as a joke
We now know why Mark was ‘contractually’ obligated to grow a beard!
Just read on StarWarsTheRealNews.net, that Disney have announced Luke’s beard will get it’s own standalone movie. A number of desperate directors are in discussions with the Mouse House to helm the project which has the working title of ‘Revenge Of The Razzies’.
Fail…
Why did I read through that long post? Sigh.
Now the talk of Lukes son has fallen to darkness due to the death of his mother. Luke then goes into hiding so he does not have to face him. All explained in flashback. Who is playing the son then? The secret actor? Sounds like a fanfic based on Lucas’ original intent with the sequel trilogy. The father will redeem the son instead of the other way around.
Gleesom plays Luke’s son. It’s no coincidence that he looks so much like Ben Skywalker from the EU. Sure, the EU is gone, but Filoni himself said that they’re gonna pick some things they liked to the new canon.
And the Star Wars Trilogies are still all about the Skywalkers, so it makes sense that Luke has a son.
Sure, Gleesom won’t be the Ben we know from the EU, but an alternate version. His mum won’t be Mara – my sources tell me she won’t exist in the films, but rather that Luke had a romance with a rebell girl some time in the past.
Gleesom’s reveal is the big cliffhanger at the end of Ep VII, and we’ll get his whole story in Ep VIII.
btw: I’ve also heard that Daisy is indeed Leia and Han’s daughter, but that she had a fallout with her parents (who aren’t together anymore in the movie) and that’s why she’s living in the AT-AT. In one old version of the script this fallout also had something to do with her brother – but I can’t guarantee that he’s still in the final version of the script. If he is though, it’s highly likely that Driver will play him.
In the leaked concept art where Daisy is fighting the Grave Robber, there’s someone laying on the ground. That was originally supposed to be Daisy’s brother.
Won’t believe until theres is some concrete proof like the concept art. Lots of rumors but very little control or restraint in posting them. The forum user Kyle, who keeps posting fake scoops and no admins here shutdown his threads is plenty.
You’re absolutely right. There’s also a lot of outdated info around these bords.
I saw the same script as Nina above and I know for a fact that there were rewrites after that. Some things stayed the same (the story about Luke’s son), but other things – like whether or not Driver’s character is still Daisy’s brother – might have changed.
As for Daisy’s fallout with her family: I read the version where she leaves because her brother joined the Empire (he’s not evil, mind you, he just thinks that the New Republic is making the same mistakes as the Old). But my source – who read a different version of the script – tells me that Driver’s no longer her brother and just an ordinary fighter pilot for the Empire.
No my personal opinion is that this person saw an outdated version of the script. There’s a very powerful scene near the end of the movie that wouldn’t work if Driver wasn’t Daisy’s brother. And that kind of scene doesn’t get written out (hint: remember Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs Darth Maul).
So take everything with a grain of salt.
I find it interesting though you have access to the script. But yes, this is a very hilarious situation we are in. Some sites have reliable info but at the same time, they also have false info. Everything is mixed in together. Making Star Wars I believe is a good example. But appears he has a lot of inside access most other on the ‘Net don’t have.
Indie Revolver is also an interesting bloke. He has been very quiet on the Star Wars front for awhile since showing the one image of the Falcon exploding on the Ice/Forest planet.
Just to clarify: I only saw an earlier draft of the script (or rather an outline), not the final script.
The version I saw was a “middle” version. For example: the whole Daisy finds Luke’s lightsaber thing was already gone. That leaked concept art with Daisy, JB and the blue lightsaber is art for that early version of the script that didn’t make it into the final story.
maybe Daisy isn’t related at all to Skywalkers or Solos.
Maybe VII is about the empire’s rebuild and the recollection of Vader both literally and metaphorically as a puppet to reignite the empire?
The new cast call upon the old cast to help them decipher the past and combat a new foe?
VII is also about rescuing Luke so that he can train Ridley in Viii?
I also wonder if maybe Luke has lost a child before VII begins?
I don’t care what anybody says. I still think Daisy is lukes child. Leia has been keeping her for him, kinda how Obi-wan was watching over luke. Luke was the main character and not Leia. It would be cheap for luke not to have offspring.
Gleesom (whom we meet in flashback) was Luke’s son who died years earlier and Luke feels responsible and lives in isolation and darkness.
The grave robber is Domhnall Gleeson, the son of Palpatine!
Shut up.
The new rumor on the Force.net sounds pretty fake to me. Funny that you guys haven’t made an update on it yet. If TFN wanted to validate it why not try and do it with some sort of evidence like a script copy or something?
The actor who is playing the baddie WAS at the table reading. I just have this strong feeling it’s Luke Skywalker.
Daisy and Driver are Skywalker/Solo siblings. They were never told about Darth Vader being their grandfather. They were also not trained in the ways of the force by their uncle Luke, the only remaining Jedi after he lost a child and went into seclusion.
Driver starts investigating the history of the Jedi, eventually leading him to the realization that Vader was his grandfather. He starts teaching himself ways of the force with whatever artifacts he can find. His dark emotional state plus his Jedi self training are an unstable combination.
He becomes the grave robber in his lust for further self discovery and validation. Daisy confronts her brother and he scares her. He explains to her that she is related to Vader.
Daisy seeks out her uncle Luke to help.
(The idea that driver is the grave robber is compelling to me. It also starts to create an arc built around a fractured brother-sister relationship. By early in episode 9 he could be brought back from the dark side to be a sister-brother Jedi combo that will challenge whatever villain appealed to Drivers character.)
