Sabine Wren Appears at ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ for a Limited Time

As part of the Season of the Force event, which runs from April 5th to June 2nd 2024, Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park has some new visitors in the form of Mandalorian-turned-Padawan Sabine Wren and new droids which will be wandering around the streets of Batuu to meet and greet visitors.

A first look at Sabine was debuted on the Star Wars Twitter/X account. The images show Sabine in her most recent look from Ahsoka. She has her short purple hair, as seen in both the series and the epilogue of Rebels, but more significantly she has Ezra’s former lightsaber clipped to her waist.

Sabine was last seen in this guise in the finale of Ahsoka where she was left stranded on Peridea with Ahsoka. Perhaps this gives us hope that she will be returning soon, or maybe the Purrgil had a brief pit-stop at Batuu on their extragalactic voyage? Speaking of Ms Tano, the two have been sighted together as Master and Apprentice by Star Wars fashionista and Batuu regular Jenmarie. The Togruta Jedi debuted at the parks last year so it makes sense for them to pair up as they wander the park.

But Sabine is not the only one to land at the park. After a brief appearance last year as imagineers tested out the new technology, BDX droids have made their official debut for a limited time as part of the Season of the Force event. The little bipedal droids are sure to delight fans as they are herded around Black Spire by cast members.

Their name, BDX, places them as ‘cousins’ to the BD-series droids seen in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and The Book of Boba Fett. These models are a little squatter and less nimble that the ‘buddy droid’ seen scrambling up onto Cal Kestis’ shoulder so the canon nerd in me is glad of the clarification.

Season of the Force will run until June 2nd and also features new Star Tours adventures, ‘Fire of the Rising Moons’ – a Star Wars themed firework display, special merchandise and food items and sees Space Mountain become Hyperspace Mountain for the duration of the event.
