Brendan Wayne: No Word on ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 Yet, Pedro Pascal Will Be In ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

The Mandalorian stunt double Brendan Wayne is out and about trying to calm the masses with regards to certain misinformation and rumors spreading online. Speaking to Screen Rant, the actor discussed the potential of a fourth season of the Disney Plus series, now that The Mandalorian & Grogu will be coming to theaters, and also Pedro Pascal’s involvement with that movie.

Back when the movie was announced a couple of months ago, questions started circulating around the Internet regarding the once-planned fourth season of The Mandalorian. With the title character now coming to the big screen, does that mean there will be no season 4 of the show? Production on that was supposed to start in October before the dual Hollywood strikes paralyzed everything.

Wayne was asked about this a few days ago and responded that he didn’t think season 4 would be happening, which most people assumed to be an answer to that question. However, when asked by Screen Rant, the actor took the chance to clarify that he simply doesn’t know anything about it, since he hasn’t been privy to those conversations:

“I’m glad you asked this, because there’s a lot of clickbait that’s out there that’s like, ‘Hey! He said there’s no season 4!’ […] That’s Jon [Favreau] and Dave [Filoni] and [Bob] Iger and those guys. I don’t even get to walk by that room when that conversation’s going on!

Now, that said, me personally, and I’m clearly not a head of a studio, I don’t know how you don’t have the movie and then make sure there’s a season 4, because Disney Plus… Jon and Dave with The Mandalorian, that was the foundation of that. I don’t know that there’s another piece that is as strong. I know for a fact there isn’t, because we were the most watched show again last year. That’s a big deal to me.”

Another unanswered question about the upcoming movie relates to Pedro Pascal’s involvement with the movie. Wayne quickly dismissed the query:

“Come on. Of course. Everyone’s so busy about it. It’s like, how about we just focus on the movie? It’s silly. Is he busy? Does he have a bunch of projects? Of course. Will they work around his schedule? Yes. It’s no different than Rosario [Dawson] was.”

It must be noted, though, that Pascal’s participation as the voice of Din Djarin has never been questioned; the actor was the first to share the story on his social media. The question has been about his presence on the set, which is a bit more complicated to answer. He has a movie shooting in New York in May (Celine Song’s Materialists) and Marvel’s Fantastic Four that will go into production either late summer or early fall in London. While there may be some space in between for him to visit Manhattan Beach, Wayne’s answer is a bit ambiguous on that front, even if we assume he means he will be on the set. (There are also some rumors about The Mandalorian & Grogu filming in the UK for a short period of time, which could come in handy for Pascal.)

The Mandalorian & Grogu will start filming this summer in California and is assumed to be targeting a May 22, 2026 release date. Details on that may be revealed at a later point this year.
