Asajj Ventress’ Voice Actor Teases More Stories After ‘The Bad Batch’

The most surprising detail in The Bad Batch‘s initial trailer was the reveal that Asajj Ventress is back and still alive. Since then, we’ve been dying to know more and are still waiting for the Nightsister to pop up in the series at the time of writing.

Well, Asajj’s voice actor Nika Futterman attended Planet Comicon KC recently and apparently teased that Ventress’ story certainly won’t be ending with The Bad Batch. Via Screen Rant, she told a fan that the character’s upcoming return in The Bad Batch is “just an appetizer” when compared to future stories:

As for what those future projects might be, that’s anyone’s guess. While it seems unlikely that we might get an animated show centered around Asajj Ventress as @drunkwooky speculates, could it be that Dave Filoni intends to give her a live action debut in one of the Mandoverse projects, like The Mandalorian and Grogu, Ahsoka Season 2 or the other movie intended to act as the culmination of it all? Though if he did, it would remain to be seen if Nika Futterman would be involved in that depiction of the character.

Returning to Asajj Ventress’ roots in animation, she could be the subject of the rumored “Tales of the Sith” animated mini-series, telling a fully formed version of her origin with Jedi Master Ky Narec and her time as Count Dooku’s acolyte. She could even appear in the also-rumored “Tales of the Bounty Hunters” animated spin-off, as she’s spent time in both of those worlds throughout her storied history. If not, then perhaps she’ll be involved in a brand new animated series that Lucasfilm just hasn’t announced yet.

Whatever it is, hopefully we’ll hear more about Asajj Ventress’ future soon. In the meantime, we have to wait a little a bit longer for her return in The Bad Batch. It may be that Lucasfilm are waiting to get that out in the world first before announcing future plans for the character.
