Diego Luna Talks Making ‘Andor”s Aldhani Arc in New Behind The Scenes Clip

In a new clip from Andor‘s upcoming steelbook blu-ray release, Diego Luna talks about what went into making the three-episode Aldhani arc in Andor season 1.

In the one-minute clip shared by Empire, Diego Luna revealed that he actually declined the opportunity to rehearse with the other actors in the rebel group, wanting to replicate Cassian Andor’s feeling as an outsider coming into a tightly established group. The decision paid off, as by the time he arrived they were as closely knit as the characters they were portraying, with their own inside jokes that he wasn’t privy to.

The Eye of Aldhani set piece was one of the most memorable moments of the season, serving as a spectacular climax to the Aldhani arc. The arc boasted some impressive acting talent, including Alex Lawther (The End of the F**king World, Black Mirror), Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones, Black Mirror), Ebon Moss-Ebarach (The Bear, Girls), Sule Rimi (Classified, The After) and Varadu Sethu (Jurassic World Dominion, Now You See Me 2).

While the prison break on Narkina 5 and the uprising on Ferrix come later on and thus stick in the minds of most fans, the Aldhani arc was where a lot of people first begun to realize just how special the Andor series would be. The steelbook blu-ray is available from Tuesday, April 30, but it will be a while longer before we get to see Andor season 2, which is expected to arrive in 2025 after production was delayed during last year’s SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
