‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ Unveils First Gameplay at The Game Awards
The wait for a proper good look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is finally over. Via The Game Awards‘ 2022 ceremony, its first-ever gameplay has arrived.
After months of speculation following an exciting but mysterious first trailer at the last Star Wars Celebration, the official Lucasfilm Games and EA channels confirmed earlier this week that the sequel to 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order would be making its next big appearance tonight at The Game Awards. Well, here’s your first look at the game in action:
The new preview showcases new locations, characters, and gameplay mechanics, but more importantly, we’re treated to more details about the darker plot, which sees Cal Kestis and the Stinger Mantis crew on the run from an increasingly powerful Empire. But there’s way more happening below the familiar surface, and we can’t wait to learn more about it.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has locked its definitive release date on March 17, 2023, and is already available to pre-order on digital storefronts such as Steam. EA’s Respawn Entertainment has developed the third person, narrative-driven action-adventure game for current-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) and PC only. After Jedi: Survivor hits shelves, the company has two more Star Wars projects in the pipeline: a shooter led by veteran OG Battlefront talent and a tactical strategy game in collaboration with ex-Firaxis (XCOM and Civilization series) devs.
The most passionate fans will be able to learn more about the five years between Fallen Order and Survivor by reading Sam Maggs’ Battle Scars novel, which comes out only days before the long-anticipated sequel, on March 7.
