Shawna Trpcic Lands Two Posthumous Costume Designers Guild Nominations for ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Ahsoka’

Shawna Trpcic, the experienced costume designer behind the last season of The Mandalorian and the first season of Ahsoka, received two nominations in the Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television category at the Costume Designers Guild Awards, the organization announced on Thursday (via Fantha Tracks).

Trpcic passed away on October 6 unexpectedly at the age of 56. She worked on several of the Jon Favreau/Dave Filoni-run Disney Plus series. She’s no stranger to the Costume Designers Guild Awards, having already won one for her work on The Book of Boba Fett Chapter One, and getting two nominations for Chapters 13 and 17 of The Mandalorian.

The two nominations are for Chapter 22 of The Mandalorian, Bryce Dallas Howard’s “Guns for Hire”, and Ahsoka Chapter 8, the Rick Famuyiwa-directed “The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord.” She’ll be up against Christine Wada, for her work on Loki‘s “1893,” Laura Montgomery for the What We Do in the Shadows episode “Pride Parade”, and Lucinda Wright for the episode of The Witcher titled “The Art of Illusion.”

Shawna Trpcic is also an Emmy nominee for her work on “Guns for Hire.”

The Costume Designers Guild Awards will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as movies from Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
