Upcoming ‘Star Wars: Visions’ Comic To Continue the Story of the Ronin

The next chapter in Marvel’s upcoming Star Wars: Visions series has been revealed, and it’s a return to a fan-favorite world. The Ronin is back in January 2024’s Star Wars: Visions – Takashi Okazaki #1, spinning off from The Duel, the premiere short for the series. Okazaki wrote the original short as well as last year’s one-shot comic.

StarWars.com provided a look at the cover and an early solicitation ahead of its release in a few months. Check them out below:

TAKASHI OKAZAKI RETURNS TO THE WORLD OF THE RONIN ONCE MORE!

• We’ve seen THE RONIN as a Sith slayer…but who was the Ronin before?

• See the early history of THE RONIN and his SITH origins in this one-of-a-kind VISIONS Special!

• Featuring THE RONIN from the first season of the hit Disney+ series, STAR WARS: VISIONS!

This is the second in a new series of one-shots, with the first coming from Peach Momoko in November. It is still unknown how long this series will be, only that each entry will be a story from a different creator. Including a one-shot from the world of the Ronin potentially opens the door for more continuations from other shorts that fans have been clamoring for since the show’s debut, like The Ninth Jedi.

Interestingly, the Sith origins of the Ronin have already been explored in Emma Mieko Candon’s novel, aptly titled Ronin. For those unfamiliar, Ronin served as a sequel to The Duel, with the (literal?) demons of the Ronin’s past playing a vital role in his coming to terms with his future. I won’t spoil precisely who/what he is in the event this comic gets into it, but the jury is out on how this comic will handle the theoretical canon surrounding the character.

Star Wars: Visions

Star Wars: Visions continues to grow as a brand. After two successful volumes of shorts on Disney Plus, a third is in development. An original manga is also in the works. In the meantime, Marvel is up to bat, giving creators a chance to share their vision of what Star Wars can be. Star Wars: Visions – Peach Momoko #1 can be pre-ordered now or found at your local comic bookshop on November 15.
