New ‘Ahsoka’ 45-Second Spot With New Footage Revealed

Disney Plus has revealed on social media a brand-new 45-second spot from Ahsoka, featuring new footage from scenes we’ve already seen in previous marketing material, as well as new lines from Ahsoka and Baylan Skoll.

Check it out below:

In terms of what the new footage means, this once again has me intrigued about the fight between Ahsoka and Marrok (the red blade-wielding Inquisitor), along with some droid companions, which seems to happen in an industrial facility of sorts, and the fight between Ahsoka and those same-looking droids in the Jedi Temple we’ve seen her visit. At this point I am quite sure that the show begins when Ahsoka visits the Temple, so I assume that by the time she gets out, she finds those droids waiting for her (we might even see that moment in the trailer). At a later point in the episode, or perhaps even a different episode, she will be at an industrial facility where she will confront/be confronted by Marrok and the droids — she will flee the scene when Hera shows up with the Ghost, something we saw in another spot recently. My guess is that he will find professor Huyang in one of those spots, possibly the first.

With the SAG-AFTRA strike still going, the main cast of Ahsoka is unable to do press interviews to promote the show, which has forced Lucasfilm to double down on TV spots (which will probably soon be rebranded to TikTok spots). Moreover, because the Writers Guild of America is also on strike, Dave Filoni can’t do any press either as the main writer of the show — he also directed a bunch of episodes, but since that’s a blurred line between both duties, Filoni will likely stay out of the picture in solidarity with the WGA.

The first two episodes of Ahsoka will premiere on Disney Plus on August 23. In the coming weeks, we will probably be getting more of these spots, as well as character posters, some minor interviews that members of the press may have done way in advance, like the most recent Entertainment Weekly cover story, and more like that.
