Happy ‘Star Wars’ Day! ‘Tales of the Empire’ Is Now Available on Disney Plus
Happy Star Wars Day everyone! It’s shaping up to be quite a special one this year, between a nine-film Skywalker Saga marathon available in theaters today, dedicated The Phantom Menace 25th-anniversary screenings available in most countries worldwide over the weekend featuring a new promo for The Acolyte, the possibility of a new trailer for the show on the horizon, and also, a brand-new six-episode animated series, Tales of the Empire, now streaming on Disney Plus.
If you’re celebrating May the Fourth by engaging with any of the activities above, or in any other way, let us know in the comments! We want to hear about the atmosphere in the theaters for people doing all nine movies in a row, and we want to know how electric the audience was when the Acolyte footage played after The Phantom Menace. We’ll be reviewing the series ourselves whenever members of our staff find time for it over the weekend, but whenever you get around to it, let us know your quick impressions! We’d prefer spoiler-free thoughts as to not ruin other readers’ experience, too.
The show, created by Dave Filoni and described as the second entry in the Tales sub-franchise, features six, 15-minute episodes. Half of them are focused on Morgan Elsbeth, with Diana Lee Inosanto reprising her role from the live-action Disney Plus series, and half following Barriss Offee in her first appearance since the season 5 finale of The Clone Wars. Meredith Salenger returns to voice her.
We’ve been waiting for a decade to see what happened to Ahsoka’s friend who turned on her and the entire Jedi Order. She was the last straw that pushed the young Togruta to leave the Jedi Order.
