‘Andor’ Actors Andy Serkis and Diego Luna Further Discuss Their Roles in the Series

In recent interviews with GQ Magazine and Variety, Andy Serkis and Diego Luna shared a few more interesting insights about Andor.

On the character of Kino Loy, Serkis added:

“I think it was a masterful piece of TV-making… I love that grounded Star Wars world – not that I don’t like the more operatic [style], because I do like that too. But it’s nice to see it explore the murky end of the swimming pool.”

Serkis’s colleague Diego Luna, during an interview with Variety, revealed his thoughts on what he thinks about Andor having two seasons:

“This is the last season for ‘Andor… It is just a two-season show, which is really important for my mental health. But knowing this is the end, I want to enjoy it and get the best out of this experience.”

Diego Luna will take some much-needed time off after finishing his work on the two seasons of Andor.

As for Andy Serkis, the character of Kino Loy was a long way from villain Snoke in The Last Jedi, which speaks to Andy Serkis’ range and talent as an actor. He commented on the development of Snoke as a character in previous interviews and has made his feelings well-known on Snoke’s early demise:

“Let me just phrase it like this. When I went in to read The Last Jedi, [I spent] the first 30 pages thinking, ‘This is the most incredible character.’ Then I turned the page: ‘And then Snoke gets sliced in half.’ And I was gutted. Gutted.”

Serkis can next be seen in Luther: The Fallen Sun, which is currently showing in cinemas and will premiere on Netflix on March 10.
